Listen Up. Message In. Speak Out. #BidBites is back TODAY (Wednesday 25th September 2024) at 12:30 PM (BST) time🕧. September's theme will be focused on MANAGING STRESS. Bidding is notoriously stressful – tight deadlines, long hours, changing requirements, response limits, lack of time or resources…the list goes on. We’ve all been there when it all gets too much. Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. It’s our body’s reaction to help you deal with pressure or threats and most people will experience the feeling of stress at some point in their lifetime. A small amount of stress can be beneficial as it can keep us alert and motivate us to act and complete tasks (helpful in bidding!). However, stress can become a problem when it lasts for a long time or is very intense. As well as Bidding Manager, Hannah Thorne is also Pipster’s Wellbeing Champion and a trained #MentalHealthFirstAider. She will be running September’s session, alongside other lovely Pipsters who will be on hand to keep an eye on the waiting room and chat. This month’s questions are: 1.   What do you do to prevent unhealthy stress when bidding? (e.g., early planning, time management etc.) 2.   What coping mechanisms do you adopt during stressful periods (e.g., regular breaks, exercise, healthy eating etc.) 3.   What would be your top tip for managing stress for other bidding professionals? The emphasis of September’s session will be on gaining tips and tricks to help manage stressful situations better so we can learn from industry colleagues who understand and share our frustrations.
