A few months ago I was lucky enough to meet some amazing people who were in the early stages of an important new film project highlighting the killing of thousands of refugees in illegal "pushbacks". Not only was this a topic I didn't know enough about, but it was one that seemed to have been hidden away in the media and kept from the public to the point where the word "pushback" was a mystery to most. After meeting the team and hearing their ambitions for the project, I immediately came on board as Impact Producer & Strategist, and am now an Executive Producer on the film. I'm so proud to be working on such an important project with our fantastic team and partners, and can't wait to bring it to life and share it with the world. Working (mostly) from within the creative industries, this project is proof that our collective creativity can and should be used to tell important stories, raise awareness, and create positive impact. Mooshi is a short docu-drama helping to shed light on the barbaric practices used by border control in pushbacks, killing thousands of refugees. We embarked on this project after hearing countless stories of individuals who had faced pushbacks, or lost family members to border violence, and knowing that these stories were being buried in news cycles. We’ve got some amazing partners coming on board to help bring this story to life, and need all the help we can get to raise the final funds for the production of the film.
