    The job market right now? Mixed. Some businesses are flying, hiring with confidence and speed, while others are feeling the strain. Spotting clear trends isn’t easy - market dynamics vary widely depending on sector, vertical, funding stage, growth trajectory, product-market fit, and broader economic conditions. Global uncertainty around tariffs and trade tensions is adding another layer of complexity, making long-term planning even harder. With so many moving parts, the job market is set to remain #Mixed. What we’re seeing in #Marketing, #DTC, #E-commerce, #ConsumerTech, and #Media & #Advertising? - The market has picked up pace - placements are up 50% in the last four weeks. - Companies that are hiring are making faster decisions, moving candidates through with intent. - But at the CMO/VP level, things are quiet - many businesses are opting for fractional strategy support while doubling down on mid-level hires, the hands-on ‘doers’ driving execution and making impact - Meanwhile, candidate registrations are down 11% - fewer new candidates entering the market means the best talent is in even higher demand. It’s easy to get caught up in the noise - market confidence shifts quickly.     🚀 AdTech Hiring Trends – Market Bounce in February 🚀 There’s been a real shift in hiring momentum since January. While some companies have made cutbacks, hiring appetite is increasing across in-house teams, agencies, and adtech/media owners. There has been funding and multiple acquisitions taken place this week too. At Pivotal London, we’ve placed with 36 companies in 2025 so far. Here’s what we’re seeing within the AdTech space in particular: 📈 Hiring is picking up. Our placements are up 50%, and 1st interview-to-placement conversions have increased by 47% – companies are making faster, more decisive moves. 🌱 New job briefings are up! Our Adtech team has been briefed on 12 new roles in February, signalling hiring momentum in the market. 📉 The talent pool is tightening. Candidate registrations are down 11%, meaning top talent is in higher demand and getting multiple offers. 🔥 Agency sales roles (£45-75k) are fiercely competitive. One of our candidates had five final interviews at once – companies are competing more for talent at this level. ⚡ Speed matters. 4 out of 5 placements we made in the last two weeks reached offer stage within 21 days. A clear 2-3 stage process is helping companies hire efficiently and secure the right people faster. 🎯 Selling roles is key. Candidates have more choice again, and the companies that actively sell the opportunity at every stage are securing the best talent. What Sales Candidates Expect Right Now: 💼 Hybrid working – 3 days a week in the office/client-facing is the norm. 💰 Salary increases – On average, candidates moving from one company to another are seeing a 15% salary jump. 📊 Commission transparency – With many firms adjusting commission structures, candidates want clarity. 📍 Patch clarity – What’s the agency patch like? Are there trading deals in place? If not, how strong are the relationships? 🔍 More research before making a move – people are being more selective after the challenges of the last couple of years.
