In 2021, we launched our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) Advisory Board to challenge our thinking and bring in fresh, external perspectives. During a recent board meeting, they presented our UK and Ireland talent team with an exciting challenge: 🎯 Create an initiative that supports and attracts ex-military personnel into our supply chain, engineering and logistics roles. We’re proud to announce that next month, we’ll be delivering on that challenge! 🎉 On November 4, we’ll be hosting a virtual immersive insights day specifically designed for ex-military professionals and their families. This day will offer: ⭐ A closer look into life at pladis and what it’s like to work with some of Britain’s most beloved brands. ⭐ An overview of the exciting career opportunities we offer across the UK. ⭐ Inspiring stories from veterans within pladis who have transitioned from military to civilian roles. ⭐ Expert advice on CV and application writing, with tips on how to showcase transferable skills in the workplace. If you're ex-military or know someone in the armed forces looking for their next opportunity, we’d love for you to join us! Interested? Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/gTikZXNm

🌍💚 At pladis, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive environment for mental health. In honour of World Mental Health Day, we’re taking a look at three initiatives within our regions that help prioritise the wellbeing of our colleagues. Last week, our global Inclusion, Diversity and Equity team hosted a virtual session where teams came together to share how we’re supporting our colleagues and explore how we can do even more. We highlighted: 💚 Positive Minds (UK and Ireland) - launched in 2016, this programme fosters a workplace culture of mental health awareness and resilience building. 💚 Golden Time (Middle East, North Africa and India)- launched in 2023, this initiative encourages colleagues to "disconnect to connect," evolving from individual to group activities that promote wellbeing and connection. 💚 Senin İçin İyi Gelecek (Türkiye, Romania, Eastern Europe and Central Asia) - piloted in Türkiye this wellbeing programme offers activities under four pillars – Charge your batteries, Be emotionally healthy, Stay mentally healthy, and Fuel your story – providing growth and connection opportunities, supporting positive mental health and wellbeing. Let’s keep this discussion going and prioritise mental health in the workplace! #WorldMentalHealthDay #Onepladis #StrongerTogether

Great to host Emma Reynolds and the The Food and Drink Federation's Jim Bligh, at our Research and Development hub in High Wycombe, recently. We gave them a behind the scenes look at our work at pladis, from our wellbeing initiatives to our approach to the challenges facing the Food and Drink sector. And of course, no visit would be complete without sampling our latest creations like Jacob’s Bites, McVitie’s Signature and McVitie's Cocoa Rich Tea! Emma commented: “Delighted to visit pladis’ Research and Development hub in High Wycombe and to sample some of their latest biscuits! It was my first ever visit to a biscuit factory and I was fascinated to see all the machines and learn about their processes.” #pladis #Innovation #FoodAndDrink #UKManufacturing

With over half a million employees nationwide, this sector plays a vital role in supporting the UK economy, contributing more than £38 billion annually. Super proud of our UK & Ireland team who scooped TWO major wins at the The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Awards! 🥇 Brand Launch of the Year went to McVitie’s White Chocolate Digestives, which has quickly become a fan favourite, having been tried and then rebought by over two million consumers since launching in July 2023. 🥇 On top of that, we’re delighted to have received the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Award for our Neurodiversity Network, founded by Grace Fairey and Annabelle Williams. Their incredible work is driving a more inclusive, supportive space for our neurodivergent colleagues. Congratulations to all the teams involved! 🌟

Our founder Sabri Ülker’s belief that every child deserves happiness fuels our purpose to bring happiness with every bite. It’s why, in response to the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye in February 2023, we committed to supporting relief and rebuilding efforts from day one, delivering free products to the region. Within four day, our Ülker brand also provided specialised biscuits for survivors and aid workers, enriched with iron and zinc to support the immune system and B1, B2 and B3 vitamins to enhance energy levels. Earlier this month, we hosted our latest Ülker Children’s Art Workshop in Hatay, a region still recovering from the devastation. Since 2011, these workshops have provided an opportunity for creativity and self-expression for the local children. The event was held in the container city we helped with 100 donated containers, creating a safe and inspiring space. They had the chance to design their own notebooks and received crucial school supplies like backpacks and stationery as they prepared to their return to school. We’re proud to honour Sabri Ülker’s legacy and continue working toward a future where every child can find the hope and happiness they deserve. 🌟

Every region we operate in brings its own flavour to our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) journey at pladis, and we're all about embracing that uniqueness. 🌍✨ We recently had the incredible opportunity to welcome our expert IDE Advisory Board – Dame Kelly Holmes, Ade Adepitan MBE, Stevie Spring CBE and Alastair Campbell – to our Istanbul office. An inspiring few days, connecting with our Türkiye team on how we can meet and exceed our global IDE goals. We’re more committed than ever to continue creating an inclusive and equitable culture at pladis. 💪 Catch all the action in our highlights video below. 🎥👇

🎬 Last night, the powerful and moving film, Kids Like Us, was seen for the first time on the big screen – and we at pladis were incredibly proud to sponsor the global premiere in world-famous Leicester Square, London. Their stories, shared with heart, humour and raw honesty, offer a poignant glimpse into the realities of childhood cancer and the strength of these incredible children. 💛 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Kids Like Us is a clear reminder of the critical work being done by Children with Cancer UK to drive more funding, research and breakthroughs in child-specific cancer treatments. 🎥 Kids Like Us is available now on Sky. #KidsLikeUs #ChildhoodCancerAwareness
