Saturday morning brings me to reflect on my week and what a lovely week it’s been…… Talking with students and staff from Middlesbrough College about volunteering opportunities with our partnered community projects here at Thirteen Group, followed by an amazing afternoon supporting Power Of Women💥 with primary school interviews for their young Ambassadors. Some volunteering to support students with their reading at Kings Academy in Coulby Newham to then attending the Tess Valley EDI Awards. Meeting with some truely inspirational people and celebrating the fabulous nominations across Thirteen Group with a very deserving winner Grace, our Living Well Coordinator and EDI Community Ambassador. The highlight was definitely meeting with the children from Pennyman Primary Academy for the Power Of Women💥 ambassador interviews. The Year 5 students were so empowered and confident when it came to talking about equality for all. Their understanding and clarity of what a truely inclusive culture is, made me feel so positive for our future. Every student interviewed blew me away with their answers and at 9 years old too, WOW, WOW, WOW!! It was great to meet with Claire Preston and Sophie McKenna from POW to share the amazing experience last night.

Had a fabulous afternoon today interviewing Y5 and Y6 children for Power Of Women💥 ambassadorial roles. All the children did amazing, and showed so much confidence and passion to put themselves forward at just 9 and 10 years old. Really glad to be able to play a small role in helping kids in the Tees Valley experience new things and see the opportunities that are out there.
