Our three biggest vows? 1. To never leave well enough alone. 2. To go the extra mile, everytime. 3. To finish off every working week with a cold one. Our membership with SAPCA The Sports and Play Construction Association cements our place among the best in the sports construction industry. Because our clients can rest easy in the knowledge that we're not just ticking boxes. We're here to make sure every project, no matter the size, gets the same high standards, attention to detail and creative problem-solving our lot are known for. If that's not something to raise a glass to, we don't know what is. Happy Friday, everyone.

Darker days and dwindling players? Not on our watch. Seasonal struggles and stolen game time? It's a hard no from us. Empty courts and energy bills through the roof? Nah, no chance. Autumn and winter can be brutal for sports facilities - but it doesn't have to be that way. That's why we've made it our mission to help sports clubs across the country stay ahead of the game, no matter the weather. Take Eastgate Tennis Club, for example. When they saw the light and got in touch for an upgrade, we jumped at the chance to help them keep their courts in action all year round. Is your club next?

Lower running costs, longer playing sessions, happier players... There's no two ways about it: upgrading to LED floodlights is a necessity for any club hoping to maintain a busy court despite the darker, nippier coming months. So, what is it you're waiting for? Let's get your club on the roster. #eastgatetennisclub

Our concern for our staff's safety doesn't stop once they've stepped foot off-site, left the office car park or logged off for the day. At Powerplus Group, we understand that our duty of care is constant - and we'd have no right harping on about our high health and safety standards all the time if they weren't constant, too. That's why we've developed comprehensive policies and support systems to ensure our staff are looked after no matter where they are. Except instead of 'policies', we've called them promises - because they're not just words typed in black and white. They're commitments we want to be held accountable for. This #worldmentalhealthday, we're proud to stand by our promises and celebrate our efforts to foster a healthier, safer and more supportive workplace.

Three things that are easier to get into than SAPCA: - Area 51 - Maximum security prisons - Bank vaults It's a whole different level of exclusivity - for all of the right reasons. SAPCA The Sports and Play Construction Association members (like Powerplus Group) are required to meet notoriously high quality standards to get their foot in the door, so you can be sure that anyone who makes it in is the 'crème de la crème'. Our spot on the members board is testament to our proven expertise and commitment to best practise across design, maintenance and construction. And it's not just about meeting requirements, either... Our SAPCA membership is evidence that we're raising the bar in the industry, making us the perfect choice for innovative, energy-efficient and high performing sports lighting solutions. Ready to give your venue a tried, trusted and SAPCA backed seeing to? My inbox is open for business. (Unlike Area 51).

Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce that it has offered Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir a new long-term rehearsal space at The City Ground. The gesture from owner Evangelos Marinakis, which will see Our Dementia Choir utilise the stadium’s Robin Hood Suite for practice sessions and social gatherings, underlines his commitment to supporting the local community and helping organisations that promote both mental and physical well-being. In addition to providing the choir with a dedicated rehearsal space, the Club will actively identify opportunities for them to perform at events to help elevate their profile. Working closely with the Nottingham Forest Community Trust, the Club hopes to move will help raise awareness of dementia and support the important work of the choir. Last Friday, our team lived every child's dream... We ate cake for breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Gluttonous? Maybe. Justified? Absolutely. Here's why: 1. We hosted our very own Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning and the lot of us (chocolate) chipped in to raise some dough. As far as we're concerned, that warrants a sugar-glazed breaky. 2. It was our much-adored office manager, Alice Hendry's birthday. Given she's on mat leave and we've missed her a lot - a cheeky lunchtime slice just felt right. 3. Alice's little one is well on the way, and in our eyes, that's more than due cause for an edible celebration. Happy birthday, Alice. We wish you all the best for the rest of your maternity leave, and we really can't wait to have you back (with the newest member of the PPG team in tow).

PPG is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. If you’re interested or know someone who might be, feel free to drop me a message for more details. And yes, I can’t quite believe I’m saying this, but if any recruiters out there have some solid candidates ready to go, please get in touch. Just a friendly reminder—we’re after an experienced Electrical Estimator, not someone from a completely unrelated field who you think would be a “great fit for our business” 👀.

Fundraising and cake are two of the things our team love most in this world. So for this year's nationwide Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning, we all got right stuck in and baked up a storm. (We use the term 'all' loosely... Because there's always one numpty who tips up to the bake off with buns they've bought from the shop, isn't there?) *Cough cough* George Cole *cough cough* Nevertheless, it's been a great morning, jam-packed (get it?) with plenty of laughs and generous donations, all for a very important cause. Now, if anyone needs us, we'll be sitting pie-eyed at our desks, reeling off our sugar highs. #macmillancoffeemorning

£3.5 billion worth of retail projects were started in the last 12 months. That's 10% more than last year... With over 200 new supermarket projects approved. There's no denying that retail's on the up - and we'd argue that the importance of creating engaging, real-world shopping environments has a lot to do with it. If you're part of the wave: investing in enhanced customer experiences through energy efficient, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other specialised installations should be at the top of your priorities. (And that's exactly what we're here for.)

Once upon a time, Kindles seemed set for world domination. Streaming was king. Games consoles were destined to leave old school board games in the lurch. Yet, here we all are: Still thumbing through paperbacks whilst we sip vodka oranges by the pool in the Costa del Sol. Gifting our old records to our much younger and cooler nieces and nephews. Screaming profanities at the Monopoly man and calling Uncle John a big, fat cheat. Because nothing ever really tops the smell and feel of a physical book, the nostalgia attached to a record being spun and the shared human experience of a physical (albeit heated) family game. Maybe that’s why retail construction’s making a comeback - despite the high street looking doomed for so long. The rise of the digital world/tech will never top real-world experiences, and the huge investments being made to modernise retail spaces and compete with e-commerce is testament to that. To make those investments worthwhile, though, it’s imperative that customer experience sits at the forefront. That all ongoing works align with the wants, needs and values of consumers through efficiency and quality. Luckily, that’s exactly the sort of thing we facilitate through our comprehensive mechanical and electrical services. If you’re already part of the retail revival, or plan to be - give me a shout. We can build something that’ll stand the test of time together. (Just no Jenga towers, please. They get me far too riled up.)
