About us
Powers provides measured land and building surveys (3D models, floor plans and elevations), underground utility detection, mobile mapping and site engineering to the architecture, engineering and construction industries across the UK. We use a range of data capture techniques from total stations and laser scanners to mobile mapping and drones and work on anything from small residential projects to master planning. We exist to limit the potential of project mistakes, overruns or overspend by solving client's complex measurement and mapping dilemmas pre, during and post construction – through every stage of a project’s lifecycle. Our high-performing team helps to keep client's projects running on time and within budget. We are discreet and understand the confidential nature of pre-construction projects. Our experienced team is able to head off complex mapping issues before they arise. We are dedicated to keeping clients on course and within budget, with a fast, accurate and flexible service. We initiate management processes of meticulous record keeping, ensuring you receive a high-quality product or service via our ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 Information Management Systems. We are audited by a UKAS accredited company every year which means our management systems are robust enough to work in the aviation, aerospace, security and defence sectors. We take the time to evidence everything we do, precisely measuring all your requirements, giving you the time to make informed decisions aligned to your budget and time constraints. These surveys provided essential data on existing layouts for National Highways network junctions, helping designers configure the site to handle future traffic demands. Despite high-traffic challenges, Powers delivered precise, actionable insights to meet the development’s infrastructure needs. Simon Downing, Design Manager at Redrow, commented: “Powers was the ideal partner, providing expertise and professionalism…delivering accurate data crucial for our design work.” 🔍 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/e7nY78ta 📞 01928 734473 📩 surveyors@powersuk.com #powerssurveying #topographicalsurvey #utilitysurveys #undergroundservicesdetection #infrastructureplanning #constructiondevelopment #civilengineering #projectmanagement #residentialdevelopment #architecture #construction

Did you know that Employers don't pay Employer's National Insurance on any of their apprentices that are under 25 years old and until that apprentice is earning over £52,270? The National Insurance Apprentice Category is Category H. Have you checked you are using the right NI category for your apprentices in your regular payroll payments? Question now is: will I be eating my words post 30th October? #keepbusinessgoing #nationalinsurance #lookafterthepennies

Another busy week in Manchester and the opportunity to meet a huge amount of #constructionindustry people. We kicked off with Education Estates® Exhibition | Conference | Awards on Tuesday, then on to Greater Manchester Chamber, UK Wigan Bury and Bolton Construction Club in Bolton's Holiday Inn. My week of meet and greet finished today with Place North West's Resi event with the ever ebullient Andy Burnham and a raft of Resi experts answering tricky questions. There was no stone left unturned - can we really build 75,000 houses in this parliament? Is that enough of a chunk of the 1.5m house target for the whole country, considering how big Greater Manchester is? It was great to catch up with contacts for whom we've done work and to make new connections and to get a feel for 'the vibe' (as my kids would say) in the resi market at this point in time. The mood? I'd say pensive, the budget on the 30th October will be key to the country's progress. Too many projects are currently delayed due to funding or the new way of working that the Building Safety Act has brought with it. Everyone is champing at the bit, desperate to get on with projects that are ready to go but can't for one reason or another. Thanks to Ian Massey, Alice Parker, Ryan Jones, Sarah DeLucia-Crook, Louise Sheridan, Joseph Beckett MRICS MCIOB, Tania Knowles, Krishan Parmar, Vicki Gilbert, Patrick Ollerton, Emma Coverdale, sarah de freitas, Steve Williamson, Mike Tyler, Aaron Williams, Oliver Jones, Emyr Jones, William Hunt, David Magill, Ibby Mahmood for stopping to chat #networking #catchingthevibe #howmanyhouses #letsbuildtogether #collaboration #construction #architecture #civilengineering #education

Lawray Architects put Wrexham and North Wales firmly on the map yesterday with their first ever Charity Breakfast Networking Event at Wrexham AFC. It was great to get an update on the Wrexham Placemaking Plan and the inroads Wrexham County Borough Council are making with community engagement and development in the town centre with an update on the plan for Wrexham Gateway to finish it off. Tim Whitehill’s The Save Construction Initiative presentation included the statistics of how many companies in the sector are becoming insolvent. It stands at 4,303 companies by the end of Q2 2024 and it's rising every year. It focuses the mind on what this means for our labour-intensive industry and it’s something we should all be questioning and supporting in order to turn the number of insolvencies around. There were some really great discussions on social value, which filled the rest of the event with presentations from Advance Brighter Futures, Morgan Sindall Group plc and Constructive Futures. We even got a chance to talk about our own initiatives and the importance of everything we do for our respective communities. It was great to meet new and familiar faces Fiona Hull MRICS, Renee Preston, Vikki Thomas, Tim Whitehill, Claire Taylor. Thanks for organising Tania Knowles and I look forward to the next one.
