Pride Cymru

On Tuesday, we proudly launched our partnership with The National Lottery Heritage Fund at the Senedd, marking the start of LGBT+ History Month. This year’s theme, Activism and Social Change, reminds us of the power of collective action and the courage of those who came before us. In the words of our Trustee, Lisa: “Our rights are hard-won, and under sustained attack.” Now, more than ever, it’s vital to reflect on our past, learn from it, and continue the fight for equality. Thanks to the incredible support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and their players, we’re exploring stories of resilience and progress, while supporting a series of events across Wales to honour our history, empower the present, and build a brighter, more inclusive future. Join us in February to celebrate our past and inspire our future. Many thanks to Mark Etheridge at St Fagan’s National History Museum in collaboration with Pride Cymru for putting together an incredible selection of the LGBTQIA+ archive yesterday for people to explore. A very informative and engaging event to celebrate 40 years of Pride in Wales. If you have any items such as leaflets, badges, t-shirts, photos etc that reflect Pride or LGBTQIA+ life please do consider donating them to an archive.
