    Don’t let them kill your vibe ☀️ It's easy to become disheartened and cynical when encountering negativity, betrayal, or cruelty from others. However, allowing bad experiences to harden your heart can lead to bitterness and a loss of compassion. Maintaining your kindness, despite adversity, is essential for your well-being and the positive impact you can have on the world. Why It Matters: Preserve Your Integrity: Staying true to your values and principles, regardless of others' actions, ensures you maintain your integrity and self-respect. Your actions define who you are, not the behavior of others. Set an Example: By consistently being good, you become a role model.     A micromanager is someone you pay to watch your top talent walk away: Micromanagers are the antithesis to growth. ◦ They kill creativity and innovation ◦ They stifle progress with fear and control ◦ They demotivate and exhaust their team In short, they are just bad for business. A micromanager is a liability for an organization. They mask their insecurities as attention to detail. They'd rather inspect every aspect of a project than trust their highly-qualified team. The result is a loss of productivity, workplace toxicity, and high turnover. The best leaders know when to step back. They trust their team to succeed and give them the autonomy to do so. They provide guidance and support but are never overbearing. They understand that their job is to lead, not to micromanage. So, how can you avoid becoming a micromanager? 1. Hire great people and trust them to do great work 2. Establish clear goals and guidelines for success 3. Provide feedback and support when needed 4. Encourage creativity and innovation 5.     5 things I'm sick of hearing from my employees: (as Rob Dance lays out in this powerful post) - Is it ok to leave early today? - I'm running late this morning. Is that ok? - My child is not well, can I head home? - Is it ok if I go to a doctor's appointment tomorrow? - I have to sort out a few things after lunch today. Is that alright? I honestly don’t care. I hire people for a job. And then I TRUST them to do it. You don't need to account for every hour with me. Today's workplace is different. Times have changed. And... Everyone is sick of being treated like a child. So what really matters? 1. That everyone is happy. 2. And the work gets done. → So, my simple advice to employers: Treat your people like adults. That’s it. That’s the BIG secret. - Give them some space - Appreciate that they have a life outside of work - And don’t gaslight them into feeling grateful for not being fired Results always matter more than hours.
