Don’t let them kill your vibe ☀️ It's easy to become disheartened and cynical when encountering negativity, betrayal, or cruelty from others. However, allowing bad experiences to harden your heart can lead to bitterness and a loss of compassion. Maintaining your kindness, despite adversity, is essential for your well-being and the positive impact you can have on the world. Why It Matters: Preserve Your Integrity: Staying true to your values and principles, regardless of others' actions, ensures you maintain your integrity and self-respect. Your actions define who you are, not the behavior of others. Set an Example: By consistently being good, you become a role model. Your behavior can inspire others to act with kindness and integrity, creating a ripple effect of positivity. Personal Fulfillment: Acts of kindness and maintaining a positive outlook contribute to personal fulfillment and happiness. They reinforce your sense of purpose and connection to others. Resilience: Choosing goodness builds resilience. It strengthens your ability to cope with negativity and adversity without losing your core values. How to stay kind, in an unkind environment: Practice Empathy: Understand that negative behaviors often stem from others' pain or insecurity. Responding with empathy rather than anger can diffuse conflict and promote understanding. Set Boundaries: Protect yourself from harmful individuals by setting clear boundaries. This allows you to remain good without being taken advantage of. Focus on Positivity: Surround yourself with positive influences. Engage with people and activities that uplift and support your well-being. Reflect and Grow: Use negative experiences as opportunities for personal growth. Reflect on what you can learn and how you can strengthen your character. Engage in Acts of Kindness: Regularly perform acts of kindness, no matter how small. Helping others can reinforce your commitment to goodness and positively impact your community. Seek Support: When dealing with negativity, seek support from friends, family, or professional counselors. They can offer perspective and help you stay grounded in your values. Being kind, even in the face of negativity, you contribute to a more compassionate world. Your actions can inspire others and create a legacy of positivity and resilience

Life isn't linear. Careers aren't either. This reminder resonated with me today. We can start, stumble, pivot, and grow at any age. I know I have throughout the years. Some tips as you navigate your career: 1. Focus on skills, not age. 2. Network across industries. 3. Try side projects (this was big for me) 4. Learn something new weekly. 5. Embrace failure as learning. Questions to ask yourself often: ☑ What energizes you? ☑ What impact do you want to make? ☑ What skills do you enjoy using? ☑ Who inspires you and why? ☑ What would you do if fear wasn't a factor? Anyone make a big career change? Would love to hear about it below. Reshare ♻ to help someone in your network. And give me a follow for more posts like this.

If you hire people to do a job, you need to be able to trust them to do it.

A micromanager is someone you pay to watch your top talent walk away: Micromanagers are the antithesis to growth. ◦ They kill creativity and innovation ◦ They stifle progress with fear and control ◦ They demotivate and exhaust their team In short, they are just bad for business. A micromanager is a liability for an organization. They mask their insecurities as attention to detail. They'd rather inspect every aspect of a project than trust their highly-qualified team. The result is a loss of productivity, workplace toxicity, and high turnover. The best leaders know when to step back. They trust their team to succeed and give them the autonomy to do so. They provide guidance and support but are never overbearing. They understand that their job is to lead, not to micromanage. So, how can you avoid becoming a micromanager? 1. Hire great people and trust them to do great work 2. Establish clear goals and guidelines for success 3. Provide feedback and support when needed 4. Encourage creativity and innovation 5. Celebrate successes and learn from failures By doing so, you'll create a culture of trust, collaboration, and growth. The benefits are obvious: ◦ Increased productivity ◦ Greater innovation and creativity ◦ Higher job satisfaction and retention ◦ Healthier workplace culture In conclusion, remember that a micromanager is someone you pay to watch your top talent walk away. Instead, be a leader who inspires and empowers their team to reach their full potential. ------------------------------------------------- DM me if you're the original owner of this image for credits. ------------------------------------------------- Follow me Dan Murray-Serter 🧠 for more on habits and leadership. ♻️ Repost this if you think it can help someone in your network! 🖐️ P.S Join my newsletter The Science Of Success where I break down stories and studies of success to teach you how to turn it from probability to predictability here: https://lnkd.in/ecuRJtrr

5 things I'm sick of hearing from my employees: (as Rob Dance lays out in this powerful post) - Is it ok to leave early today? - I'm running late this morning. Is that ok? - My child is not well, can I head home? - Is it ok if I go to a doctor's appointment tomorrow? - I have to sort out a few things after lunch today. Is that alright? I honestly don’t care. I hire people for a job. And then I TRUST them to do it. You don't need to account for every hour with me. Today's workplace is different. Times have changed. And... Everyone is sick of being treated like a child. So what really matters? 1. That everyone is happy. 2. And the work gets done. → So, my simple advice to employers: Treat your people like adults. That’s it. That’s the BIG secret. - Give them some space - Appreciate that they have a life outside of work - And don’t gaslight them into feeling grateful for not being fired Results always matter more than hours. Agree? Disagree? ♻ Please repost if you think more employers need to think this way. And follow Eric Partaker for more content like this!
