Our vision is to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK.

About us

Primary Science Teaching Trust is an education management company based out of United Kingdom. There is much evidence showing that children’s interest in science is shaped before they leave primary school. So there is a very pressing need to ensure that primary-aged children do not lose that latent interest and enthusiasm for the world around them, and the science that underpins this. While not all children will follow a career in science or related disciplines when they leave the school system, science literacy will influence their lives daily: for example, managing their health and understanding issues such as climate change. This means that science taught in primary schools is of vital importance to individuals and the nation’s well-being. There is also a significant body of data that shows that the teaching of science supports literacy and numeracy and within the Trust’s activity there are myriad excellent examples of this. The message is clear: we need good science teaching at primary school level, which is precisely what the Trust is seeking to support through a strategy that puts the teacher at the centre of all that we do.

🚀 NEW Shorter Format Episode of The Primary Science Podcast 🎧 Season 2 Episode 3: Prof. Lynne Bianchi - Science Questioning and Communicating Evidence in the Primary Science Classroom This month, we have the brilliant Professor Lynne Bianchi on the podcast and we packed our new, shorter-format episode with the most important takeaways on science questioning, evidence communication and strengthening science culture in primary schools. 💡 Key highlights: ✅ Asking the right science questions – Prof. Bianchi highlights the need for a culture shift in schools around getting the science question right. Without deep, well-structured questions that lead to the child gathering evidence, even the best enquiry activities fall flat. ✅ Showcasing evidence in meaningful ways – Communicating evidence isn’t just about writing in books. Lynne points out ways to make evidence come alive and be more fit-for-purpose—from storytelling to poetry, art and even dance! ✅ Building science identity through questioning – If children own the process, they strengthen their personal connection to science. ✅ The Great Science Share for Schools – A fantastic initiative that gives students the world over a real platform to showcase their science learning and discoveries - an important event for any science leader's toolkit! Oh, and did you know that Lynne has an incredible secret skill? You’ll have to watch the episode to find out! Don’t miss this fun, fast-paced episode filled with brilliant insights and surprises! 🎙️ 🔗 Listen now → Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gW-KC-EA YouTube:https://lnkd.in/gbDYT2v5 #PrimaryScience #ScienceEducation #ScienceInquiry #ScienceLeaders #GreatScienceShare
