Are you a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 + years of experience interested in taking steps into a Project Management type position? Are you keen to take a step away from being fully immersed in design? This company do NOT design or do new build construction. They work for the Managing Agents, on existing buildings requiring appraisals for retrofitting and refurbishment on behalf of major landlords in the heart of London. They manage the job from appraisals of HVAC through to selecting subcontractors, from tender and managing through to completion of refurbishments. This role is for someone who has in depth technical knowledge of HVAC, BMS, Plant etc. Someone with a technical mechanical background (must have IMechE,MCIBSE, Mechanical degree) Work includes the preparation of a technical performance specification; compiling tender documentation; tender evaluations; arranging and conducting post tender review meetings; preparation of tender analysis reports; preparing contract documentation; procurement; project management; replacement projects. Providing strategic advice to building owners and Managing Agents; plan and optimise the performance of buildings, together with feedback in terms of long-term sustainability, energy use, maintenance and reliability. The company have been running for nearly 25 years and have grown their business significantly during that time. An Engineering Consultancy with a real understanding of the property sector built through first hand knowledge and experience. With a real emphasis on developing their employees there are great routes of progression available. Salary is dependent on experience (circa £50000 - £65000), 27 days + Bank Holidays, Death in Service Benefit, Private Healthcare, Performance related bonus Contributory Pension and a zone 1-3 travel card provided for site visits. Are you interested in making a real impact on the operations of a new office for an established MEP Design Consultancy? Working on projects (Hotel / Leisure/ Residential/ Commercial/ Industrial/ Education/ Retail) with a strong mix between developer and contract, so design stages from Stage 2 & 3 "fluffy design" to the "nuts and bolts" of Stages 4 & 5? All whilst being enabled to grow and develop, with a long term view of becoming an equity Director and working a 9 day fortnight. Not a bad proposition, I would suggest. I’m working exclusively with a long standing client of mine who have recently set up a brand spanking new office located in central Birmingham. The company are looking to secure a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer, to effectively become the “number 2” in the office which means not only utilising your design skills, but also being involved in both operations and management. Future works include Multiple newbuild education projects, MOD and MOJ large scale projects (such as detention centres and barracks works) and large scale residential developments. Well it’s certainly been a busy start to Priority Talent Group life! So far…. 🤝 21 x Clients have signed our Terms and Conditions and have agreed to a recruitment partnership. 🗂️ 34 x Live roles being worked on. Full job specs taken and timelines on delivery agreed. 🚙 15 x Client meetings. 📅 22 x Interviews arranged. 🫵 6 x Permanent placements made. 👎 2 x Job offers rejected. 💷 4 x Invoices paid so far. ☀️ Approx 4.5 days of sunny weather to enjoy. It’s been a good start to life as an independent recruiter, however as my Grandad always used to say “it could be better, it could be worse”. What I will say is that I’m throughly enjoying the “ride” so far. There is still plenty of ground to cover moving forward, lots of people to meet, speak with and hopefully form long term relationships with…..and of course many more roles to fill!
