Do you still calibrate your turbidity analysers? All analysers need to be calibrated…. don’t they? Yes, they do. If they might drift. But, if they are the patented TurbSense® from Pi…….. then NO! TurbSense® uses patented technology called MutoLux® which is revolutionising the measurement of turbidity. By applying Beer Lamberts law in an innovative and patented way, Pi can make turbidity monitors that don’t need to be calibrated. How is this possible? Click the video below to watch a short animation on how the TurbSense® works. MutoLux® compensates for all the factors that result in sensor drift (the reason that sensors must be calibrated). But what if your quality systems insist on you checking your sensor? Then we make that easy for you too, with the TurbSense® solid calibrations standards, which can be found on our website. If you would like to know about Pi’s turbidity monitor, TurbSense®, simply give us a call on +44 (0)1282 422835, or, visit our website at https://lnkd.in/eddR5y7u

Free and total residual chlorine measurements are two of the most important measurements in a water treatment facility, without which operators can’t guarantee the safety of the water they’re producing. There are two main technologies used: electrochemical and DPD (online), both available from Pi. Both technologies have advantages and disadvantages. The patented Chloribrid® uses both technologies in a hybrid instrument to effectively negate all the disadvantages of both, leaving a simple instrument with all the advantages of both electrochemical and online DPD technologies. #chlorine #water #dpd #electrochemistry #technology #alladvantages

Ever wondered how your water is really 'cleaned'? The process of treating water so that it is of a high enough quality to use can be an intricate process. Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a common process for removing solids, oils and fats in water, whereby air is dissolved in wastewater under high pressure conditions and is then released at atmospheric pressure. This release causes the suspended solids, oils, etc. to float on the surface of the water, where removal can take place. The DAFSense® from Pi is a coagulant controller specifically designed for DAF applications. No matter what coagulant you use or however variable your effluent water source is, the DAFSense® can control your dosing and keep your water within the desired parameters. Low cost and robust, sophisticated but simple to use, the DAFSense® brings a number of benefits: · Proven, industrially hardened self-cleaning sensors · Superb control algorithms allowing for o Changing flow o Changing solids o Changing coagulant makeup · Remote access and data collection · Sophisticated alarms Every DAFSense® from Pi is specifically configured to the needs of every plant. Watch the video below to learn more, or call us on 01282 422835 to discuss your application.

Pi's OxySense Online Optical DO Analysers are used in Aeration Lanes and Oxidation Ditches to control the air blowers. What is probably the world’s most reliable Dissolved Oxygen sensor, coupled with Pi’s award winning electronics, provides up to 24 months between maintenance and calibration events and results in probably the best online DO analyser available in the world today. A customer from South America who was only looking for a DO sensor hit the jackpot with Pi's online DO analyser OxySense and completely removed the need for a PLC at their water treatment plant, saving money, time and resource. #oxygen #dissolvedoxygen #water #watertreatment #southamerica

Happy New Year to all, we hope you had an amazing break! At Pi we are kicking off the year with a post about a recent success in overcoming the disadvantages associated with DPD testing in Sweden. Working with Paab Tekno Trading AB, Pi's distributor in Sweden, we managed to offer a cost effective alternative that eliminated the disadvantages associated with DPD testing to a customer who then saw almost immediate results. If you have experienced problems with negative interferences, high reagent costs and difficulty measuring low levels of chlorine, read on to find your potential solution. #chlorine #dpd #water #sweden #results #solutions #electrochemical

Online DPD vs electrochemical sensors for residual chlorine monitoring are always battling for first place to be the 'best' method. The truth is one will never triumph over the other as they have different strengths and weaknesses that appeal to some applications more than others. The good news is regardless of which you prefer, Pi sells a successful range of electrochemical sensors and and online DPD option too, so you don't need to worry about choosing a supplier. We have you covered! #water #chlorine #residualchlorine #monitoring
