Progress Schools High Wycombe recently had an exciting visit from Kelly Rees, Employment and Education Lead at Wycombe Wanderers Foundation. She spoke to our Grow and Launch students about apprenticeships, coaching opportunities and her own career path into working for #WWFC. She took the time to speak to students individually to answer their questions, including one student who is shortly to have a trial for their U14 Academy team. This was a great opportunity for the students to expand their knowledge on careers and opportunities within their local area. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, Progress Schools Tees Valley had a visit from Aquatic Finatic, who specialise in animal education and pet therapy. Our students had the opportunity to interact with a variety of animals, including snakes, guinea pigs, chickens, tortoises, rabbits, owls, lizards, and a bearded dragon! It was a wonderful experience that not only provided fun but also helped our students learn about animal care and the positive impact of pet therapy on mental health. Bake it forward! 🍰 Students at Progress Schools Thrapston prepared and hosted a #Macmillancoffeemorning at their local leisure centre. They got right to work creating posters, which they handed out throughout the community, and baked and decorated cakes for the event. After setting up with bunting and balloons, they were surrounded by hungry customers tempted by their baked goods. They ended the morning having raised over £200! They even received a shoutout on the local Facebook group which the students were very proud of. They were also commended for their attitude and behaviour by all the staff and customers at the leisure centre. Our staff shared how extremely proud of them they are and we echo this! Incredible job working together for a good cause, those cakes look delicious, we're sure you had many happy customers that morning! #community #macmillan #BakeSale #StudentEngagement
