We recently held our second Annual Summit, bringing together our Project Groundwater Partnership and representatives from our pilot communities to talk all things groundwater flooding. With the project now over halfway complete, this summit offered a rare opportunity for us all to come together in one space—to reflect on our progress, share insights, and envision even more impactful outcomes. Through engaging discussions and hands-on workshops, we explored both our successes and opportunities for improvement. We wanted to be sure that our project will deliver on our vision to forever change how communities prepare for and respond to groundwater flooding. We will be reviewing the outputs of this event to guide our planning for the future. A huge thank you to our dedicated partners and participants! Together, we’re making important strides toward a resilient future where groundwater flooding who who experience it receive the recognition and support they need. #AnnualSummit24 #GroundwaterPartnership #GroundwaterFlooding #FloodResilience #FCIP

Anyone who knows me well, knows I ❤️ a nature based solution. But applying them can be tricky, particularly if groundwater flood processes are involved - a problem I wrestled with as part of my PhD research and have begun (hopefully) to bring solutions to at JBA Consulting (in collaboration with Anna Beasley, Alex Jones, Rowan Barker, and Jordane Bates). Here's a snippet of a conversation I had with Katie Hargrave-Smith on the Groundwater Rising Podcast as part of Project Groundwater. Find out what we're proposing in the full episode: bit.ly/GR_NbS Honourable mention to my PhD supervisors who helped me through the struggle back in the day: David Sear, Julian Leyland, Justin Sheffield and Tim Sykes
