As the UK government ramps up its efforts to embrace the future of technology and innovation, the Invest 2025 initiative is leading the charge. This ten-year plan is designed to boost investment in key growth areas, with a strong focus on digital technologies, including AI. 🤖 🚀 The initiative is crucial for enhancing the UK's global competitiveness and addressing the challenges posed by emerging technologies. However, the recent IChemE roundtable highlights that the current regulatory framework for AI is insufficient to ensure safety and public trust. ⚠️ Experts warn that robust regulations are essential to support the safe integration of AI in engineering and other sectors. With only a few months left for stakeholders to voice their opinions, it's imperative to push for comprehensive regulations that foster innovation while prioritising safety. The Invest 2025 initiative will conclude with the publication of the final industrial strategy in spring 2025. 📅 This strategy aims to create a more investor-friendly environment and foster sustainable growth in the UK. The public consultation phase for this initiative is set to close on November 24, 2024, allowing various stakeholders to provide their input before the strategy is finalized. Will they meet the deadline for these vital changes to come into effect? ⏳ As we approach the consultation closure, it’s an opportune time for engineers, businesses, and industry leaders to advocate for necessary adjustments to the regulatory landscape. www.projexsolutions.co.uk #Invest2025 #AI #Engineering #Innovation #Safety #UKGovernment #ProjexSolutions

Control philosophies help us manage and control systems in engineering and automation. Here are some key approaches explained simply: 🔄 Feedback Control: This method keeps an eye on how things are working and makes adjustments to stay on track. Think of it like a thermostat keeping your home at the right temperature! 📊 Feedforward Control: Instead of reacting to changes, this approach anticipates them and adjusts ahead of time to prevent problems. ⚙️ PID Control: A popular method that uses three calculations (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative) to maintain stability and responsiveness in systems. 🔄 Adaptive Control: This method changes in real-time based on what’s happening around it, making it great for situations that are always changing. 🛡️ Robust Control: Focuses on keeping the system working well, even when things are uncertain or not going as planned. 🎯 Optimal Control: Aims to find the best ways to control things while saving resources, like energy or time. 📈 Model Predictive Control (MPC): Uses models to predict what will happen next, allowing for smarter decisions in managing systems. These philosophies are essential for designing systems that are efficient and reliable! www.projexsolutions.co.uk #Engineering #ControlPhilosophies #Automation #PIDControl #SmartSystems #ProjexSolutions
