The Propeller team continues to grow with the arrival of Jonny Guy. Jonny is our new head of integration bringing more than 15 years’ experience of the housing IT industry to Propeller. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in IT support, consultancy, integration, and solution architecture, including spending five years at Manifest Software Solutions. As well as managing the integration of Propeller’s software with clients’ existing systems, Jonny will be responsible for developing Propeller’s own integration platform using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technology. Commenting on his new role, Jonny said: “I’m looking forward to working for a small, dynamic team where I can apply my knowledge while learning new skills through AWS technology. “Having worked across all the housing management systems used by Propeller’s clients, I understand the capabilities and limitations. These insights will help to streamline the integration process and be key to launching our own platform for use by all clients. “The tools within AWS technology will enable us to create highly effective solutions that require minimal set up, can be rolled out quickly and free up the time of our developers.” Dave Carr, Managing Director of Propeller, added: “Jonny is a fantastic asset to our team bringing specialist skills that will benefit both our business and clients. “Offering our own integration platform marks a significant step forward for Propeller, removing the need for third party providers. Solution Spotlight: ateb Housing association ateb joined forces with Propeller in 2019 when we implemented our cloud-based workforce management system. Since then, the system has evolved to meet ateb’s needs and is now used to manage all compliance areas. The most recent development has seen the team adopt Propeller’s new electrical solution. This includes the certificates required to comply with the latest electrical wiring regulations (BS 761) as well as extra functionality making it quicker and easier for operatives to carry out electrical safety checks. “Instead of having to use different systems for scheduling jobs and completing electrical certifications, we can now manage everything through the Propeller software,” explains Rob Davies, Electrical Supervisor at ateb. “ Electrical safety checks are booked and monitored using Propeller. Once on site, our operatives can complete all electrical compliance documents using an App on their iPad. This is saving significant time as previously they had to complete the certificates on paper.” The information recorded during the on-site inspections is automatically fed into a dashboard to provide real-time visibility of compliance, including which homes are due for an electrical safety check and if any properties are at risk. Since the software has been implemented, Propeller has continued to collaborate with ateb to refine the electrical solution in line with the organisation’s needs. “We were using a lot of paper forms for PAT testing and other safety checks including smoke and carbon monoxide alarms,” says Rob. “Propeller has resolved this by generating separate digital forms for each activity, which can be easily accessed on the operative’s iPad, further driving efficiency.” By partnering with Propeller, ateb now has a central compliance system for gas, electrical legionella and fire safety.
