About us

Proteus is an innovative, cutting-edge marine energy business. It is a new brand name as of 2022, but with a rich 20-year history! Holding the formal IP and key pioneering personnel from former owners Marine Current Turbines and Atlantis, our technologies have generated over 20GWh, roughly one quarter of the UK/EU’s output so far. Our long-developed AR series systems are now ready for commercial deployment at volume, including the most efficient and powerful single-axis tidal turbines available. Our experienced team, which provides holistic end-to-end solutions, including integrated offshore services, is growing to ensure the successful execution of our global projects.

What a week! It’s an extremely busy time for Proteus, particularly following the announcement of our 59MW project for MeyGen, awarded at the Ocean Energy Europe Conference, where Drew has also been speaking. We now have just a few days left on Crowdcube and warmly invite new shareholders to join us as we ramp up for significant revenue growth. As a reminder: 👉 We’re raising to scale, NOT for R&D. We’ve already invested heavily in our environment - from our technology and equipment to our offshore services. 👉We’re leading delivery of the newly announced £200m+ 59MW project for MeyGen in Scotland, the largest tidal stream facility in the world, which we’ll deliver with our partners SKF Marine and GE Vernova. 👉Our technology has produced around ¼ of UK and EU tidal energy to date. 👉Our partner Normandie Hydroliennes in France has been selected by the European Commission’s Innovation Fund to accelerate ocean energy development in Europe, using our technology! 👉LCoE reduction path verified in a recent report commissioned by the European Investment Bank 👉 20 years’ of tidal knowledge and experience. So from early-stage studies like the Cook Inlet (Alaska) project with ORPC, to key pilot arrays in France and Japan and advancing to leading commercial arrays in the UK, we are driving forward the deployment of ocean energy solutions. We hope you’ll join our journey at this exciting and pivotal point. https://lnkd.in/esHsq_zx #ProteusMarineRenewables #Proteus #Crowdfunding #RenewableEnergy #TidalTechnology #NetZero #CleanTech #InnovativeTech #Sustainability Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. • An incredible turnout at yesterday’s webinar, where Drew Blaxland was joined by MeyGen’s Fraser Johnson and Proteus’s Nigel Hopley. The spotlight was, naturally, on our MOU to deliver 59MW to MeyGen (£200m+), the largest tidal stream facility in the world accounting for over 70% of the global tidal stream total output. It was great to be able to give an overview of the awarded projects, size and deliverables. We also managed to cover our key markets, the cost of tidal and competition, with an enjoyable dive into technical elements, too. You can access the webinar recording here: https://lnkd.in/eDJBwADy ⏰ Closing on Crowdcube next week ⏰ We’re fast approaching the end of our crowdfunding campaign, and are delighted to be welcoming investors by the hour! We really appreciate the interest and support. If you’re yet to join as a Proteus shareholder, you can find out more and invest below. We’d love you to be a part of our future. https://lnkd.in/esHsq_zx #ProteusMarineRenewables #Proteus #Crowdfunding #RenewableEnergy #TidalTechnology #NetZero #CleanTech #InnovativeTech #Sustainability Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest.
