This evening, I had an incredible experience sitting on a panel for Psalt’s Come Correct programme, where I got to engage with an amazing group of young, brilliant, Black talent. This initiative is truly special - empowering participants to unlock their unique capabilities, embrace their differences, and confidently bring their “superpowers” to the FMCG industry. A huge thank you to my fellow panellists, Ellena Tangi, Paul Neville and Maqhawe Ndebele, for such insightful discussions and shared experiences. Witnessing the passion and potential in the room was both inspiring and humbling. It’s clear that with the right support and encouragement, these future leaders will shape the industry in ways we’ve never seen before! Kudos to Sam Akinluyi, Leroy Marke, Chianne Buckle, Tracy Thompson (Dell), Korianne Muya and the rest of the Psalt team for such a transformative programme, helping to narrow the gap and unlock opportunities for our young people.

Celebrating Come Correct Cohort 2! 🎉 Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible talent from Come Correct Cohort 2. The standard and quality of the community on stage, along with the rest of the community from Cohort 1, was truly remarkable. Each participant demonstrated a deep understanding of the material, clear playback, and outstanding presentation skills — they smashed it! 💡👏 We're excited to see what the future holds for these bright minds. Congratulations to everyone involved! #ComeCorrect #Cohort2 #TalentDevelopment #FutureLeaders #Celebration

The FMCG Pathway has been built with 4 years of dedicated effort. It aims to boost industry representation, starting with Black talent. Our committed member organizations have partnered with us to make this happen, but there's much more to do. The need is greater than ever. We’re inviting more companies to join us in 2025. Interested? Please contact Leroy Marke at leroymarke@psaltgroup.co.uk

FMCG insights week #1…done So many young Black people aren’t aware of career opportunities within the Consumer Goods industry. So last month, our Psalt FMCG member companies opened their doors. Psalt supports our Talent to successfully transition into the world of work. They have now gained the richest of work experiences. Their eyes have been opened to the Consumer Goods industry…and after an experience like this…it’s going to be hard for them to look away! We’re still buzzing with the talent we encountered during Insights Week. The passion, curiosity, and enthusiasm displayed by these young individuals were truly inspiring. Thank you Diageo, Mondelēz International, Red Bull, The HEINEKEN Company, Marks and Spencer and Tesco. Stay tuned for what’s next! If you’re not a 2024 Pathway member company please contact Leroy Marke to sign up for next year. Have a watch… Leroy Marke Sam Akinluyi Kelly F. Chianne Buckle Shiarone Daley

During Insight Week, we set our participants an exciting challenge: to produce a health-focused FMCG brand in either snacking, soft drinks, or alcohol. Over the course of the week, we delved into consumer insights, marketing strategies, product development, and even got on the ground to walk the shop floor, exploring how to best position these innovative products. We also touched on the commercial aspects, ensuring a well-rounded approach to their projects. We were blown away by the creativity and dedication shown by all of the teams. Each team went above and beyond to create their products and pitch to us in a Dragons' Den style pitch day. However, it was the "Soft Giants" who truly stood out with their outstanding shelf-ready product. Their pitch was nothing short of spectacular, demonstrating a deep understanding of the market and a clear vision for their brand. Here are a few slides from their winning pitch, showcasing the work that made team “Soft Giants" the champions of this year's task. Well done to ALL participant & Congratulations to “Soft Giants”! Last week I took on the role of Brand Designer for Soft Giants…🌚 As part of my insight week with Psalt, my team and I produced a health based soft drink product named “Soft Sip”🥤. I led testing for the designs amongst our target consumers (16-25 year olds)👥 Our potential consumers particularly enjoyed the colours of the packaging and how the flavours were prominent🎨 Also saying stating that soft sip would definitely stand out for them to pick up in store 😎. It was a great experience to contribute to my team Kanye Tunkara John Ajanaku Adanna Osisiogu Angellina (Tendo) Batindira 🙌🏾 To top it off, soft giants were awarded first place in the presentations!!🥳🏆 So I guess I can say I’m an award winning designer right…👀🤭 Overall it was an amazing week that was full of first times: 👀 Both mine and Psalt’s first insights week (my first time attending and Psalt’s first time hosting) 👨🏾💻 First packaging and logo design for a brand 🌟 First time researching, designing and testing a project all within 72 hours! Thank you to Sam Akinluyi Leroy Marke Tracy Thompson (Dell) Kelly F. Chianne Buckle along with all companies and people involved. It was truly an experience like no other 😁. That’s me Oluwatimilehin😎 #softgiants #design #creative #logodesign #branddesign #presentation #insightweek #fmcg
