Without (current) plans to increase primary care funding, how can the community pharmacy sector be supported, amid ongoing pressures, to take on the increasing level of responsibility? 🔍 This panel discussion at the #IntegratedCareDeliveryForum2024 will take a holistic view of primary care in the wake of the new government, with a particular focus on community pharmacy. As part of their plan to move healthcare closer to home, the Labour party aims to shift the NHS to a Neighbourhood Health Service. As a service embedded within local communities and accessible to most of the population within a 20-minute walk, community pharmacy is strategically placed to take a pivotal role in this mission. Labour have pledged to create a Community Pharmacist Prescribing Service, demonstrating how community pharmacy may take a more strategic role in the party’s vision for the NHS. The service would be implemented against the backdrop of ongoing expansion to pharmacy services, such as those contained within the delivery plan for recovering access to primary care - to continue to grow patient volumes across the blood pressure, contraceptive and Pharmacy First services - which are not without their own challenges. Click on the link below to find out what questions we will be asking during this panel👇 Theatre: Medicines and Care Pathways Panel: Elevating pharmacy as an essential and strategic partner Speakers: 🗣️ Yousaf Ahmad, Chief Pharmacist and Director of Medicines Optimisation, NHS Frimley Integrated Care Board 🗣️ Alastair Buxton, Director of NHS Services, Community Pharmacy England 🗣️ Luvjit Kandula FRPharmS, Director of Pharmacy Transformation, @Greater Manchester LPC 🗣️ Dina Thakker, Head of Medicines Optimisation (Primary Care & Community Pharmacy), NHS South West London 🗣️ Funmi Balogun, ICS Community Pharmacy Integration Lead Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board Get your free* ticket now👉 https://lnkd.in/daQSCgB2 📚 The agenda for the Integrated Care Delivery Forum is CPD certified.
