1 young person faces homelessness every 4 minutes It was not so long ago our very own CEO slept out with Vinnies CEO Sleepout SA in Sydney, and proved that when we come together, we can create change. This initiative, hosted by Centrepoint and the Manchester United Foundation, will see individuals swap beds for a night under the winter stars at Old Trafford, to raise funds and awareness for young people experiencing hardship this winter. We are sharing this post to raise awareness of the great work they are doing. We wish everyone sleeping out the very best of luck for the 15th!

  • Some of our Pure Insights team had the wonderful opportunity last week to attend Maximus UK's MaxPride x MaxAbility 'Un-D!vided' event, a day dedicated to the sharing of experience and expertise on Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, stigma and the beneficial impacts of gamification. As a member of Maximus's Community Partnership Network, it was a chance to connect with like minded professionals and acknowledge how our diversities can strengthen our team and enhance our skillsets. Thank you to Ashley Samuels for his partnership in including us in this event and to the wider partners in attendance for offering their knowledge. It was truly inspiring to be part of such a successful day with individuals committing to transforming lives and having genuine impact! #LGBTQ #Pride #DEI #ImpactMatters #Neurodiversity

This October 10th, is World Mental Health Day 🤕 🥴 💓 Did you know that 1 in 8 people around the world live with a mental health condition? Whether it's depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges, these issues affect millions of people in ways that are often invisible. On World Mental Health Day, we are reminded of the importance of supporting those around us—because mental health is everyone’s concern. Here are a few simple ways we can make a difference to you and those around you: 🩵 Listen without judgment: Sometimes just being there can be the biggest help. 🩵 Check in: Reach out to friends, family, or colleagues who might need support. 🩵 Learn more: Educate yourself on mental health conditions to better understand and support others. 🩵 Encourage professional help: Remind people that it’s okay to seek support from a therapist or counsellor. 🩵 Promote well-being: Advocate for environments that encourage self-care, work-life balance, and emotional wellness. 🩵 Breaking the stigma: Open conversations about mental health help normalise seeking support. 🩵 Support systems: It’s a day to check in on your loved ones, friends, and colleagues. 🩵 Education: Spread awareness and knowledge, as understanding mental health is the first step to providing meaningful help. 🩵 Self-care: Take time for yourself. Mental health is not just about getting through hard times; it’s about thriving and feeling well every day. Let's use this day to remind ourselves and each other that mental health care is a right, not a privilege. Mental health matters every day. Let’s break the stigma, uplift those around us, and work towards a world where everyone can thrive. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #BreakTheStigma #BeKindToYourMind #menthalhealth #wecare #workhappy

  • 🌍 October is World Mental Health Month 🌍 This month is a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health and well-being for everyone, everywhere. Mental health is not just about the absence of mental disorders; it's about our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act in our daily lives. 🧠 Mental health matters for all of us: 📍 It’s okay to ask for help. 📍 It’s okay to prioritise self-care. 📍 It’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling. In a world where we often focus on productivity and external success, let's also focus on inner balance, mindfulness, and taking care of each other. Whether through professional support, talking to friends, or finding ways to decompress, there's always a way to improve and maintain mental wellness. Let’s break the stigma together! Here are some ways you can get involved this month: 1️⃣ Start conversations with empathy. 2️⃣ Share resources to support mental well-being. 3️⃣ Take time for self-care. 4️⃣ Encourage mental health initiatives in your workplace. #WorldMentalHealthMonth #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #SelfCare #WellBeing #SupportEachOther #pureinsights #counselling #support #care #stigma

  • What do we mean when we talk about employees becoming 'accidental counsellors'? Accidental counselling is when we’re put in the position of helping others to cope with their feelings without having the professional training or qualification to support them. This is a role many employment advisors find themselves in regularly while supporting their jobseekers with more complex mental health barriers and trauma. Over the last 20 years of working in collaboration with frontline employment advisors Pure Insights has seen high levels of burnout from exposure to the impact and traumatic experiences that their jobseekers with complex barriers to employment often present with. It is important for organisations to support the wellbeing of their team members when working in challenging frontline roles. Our Accidental Counselling training workshop is a practical training programme that explores the nature, dynamics of accidental counselling role and the risks of vicarious trauma and burnout associated with this role. The programme provides a forum for teams to connect, engage and experience validation and some normalisation in context to their current experiences. It also skills teams with practical tools to enhance their coping capabilities and strengthen resilience and mindset so they can focus on continuously providing quality care to their clients. Let’s work together to make a difference.
