The Inclusion Revolution is happening…..   PVL and Woodlands Meed awarded ‘Inspirational Partnership’ Award for setting up Supported Internship Programme. Joe Smith, West Sussex Brighton & Hove Careers Hub, recently awarded PVL CEO Nick Broom the ‘Careers Champion Inspirational Partnership Award ‘.   The award is recognition of the significant work that PVL and Woodlands Meed have done to establish their Supported Internship Programme in 2024.   PVL and Woodlands Meed have been working together for several years to help give young people with SEND an opportunity for work experience leading to employment opportunities. The new Supported Internship programme means that more local young people with SEND can be given the opportunities to access meaningful work experience and gain skills that could help with future employment opportunities, whilst being supported by an expert job coach in the workplace and continuing their education.     Is your business part of the Inclusion Revolution? Talk to Woodlands Meed about how we can help you establish a Supported Internship Programme.

Really proud of the work between the PVL UK Ltd team and Meed's Job Club at Woodlands Meed club over the past few years. We currently have three ex students from the school and for anyone out there who’s not engaged with them and considered helping these young people get a start in working life; don’t hesitate a moment longer! The school, and its support systems and team do an incredible job, but they can only go so far; they need more employers to work with them and find placements in real workplaces. And if you think it’s “too difficult” or might mean extra overhead, think again, the team support both sides at every stage and the ex-students we have are some of the highest performers in our factory, with an incredible work-ethic. Well, that was fun! Being interviewed by a film crew yesterday about the growth and success of PVL UK Ltd in the proximity of London Gatwick and the vibrant Gatwick Diamond Business community by a Korean film crew. They are producing a documentary to demonstrate the wider impact that airports near cities have on businesses both directly and indirectly. Should be airing in Korea! (and YouTube) in December.

Star Apprentice of 2024 - Winners Certificate presented to Jaden Corner from PVL UK Ltd. I was invited to the premises of PVL to meet their Star Apprentice and present him with his Winners Certificate from this year's BHBiz24 Awards. Sponsored by Time 24 Ltd, this category was judged by one of our three independent judges, Paul Rolfe, Associate Principal of Chichester College Group and Director of Sussex & Surrey Institute of Technology. Here's what our judge Paul Rolfe had to say about Jaden's BHBiz24 submission: "Undertaking an apprenticeship is not easy, you have to focus on learning new skills, knowledge and behaviours whilst writing assignments and building a portfolio of evidence alongside a full-time job!    Jaden’s nomination demonstrated a strong commitment to taking ownership of his learning through his apprenticeship as well as excelling in the workplace to become one of their top performing technicians.   His future looks incredibly bright, he has truly earned the title of star apprentice."
