We have kicked off our 20th anniversary celebrations with the QS Higher Ed: Asia Pacific Pre-Summit! Opening addresses from Sayasat Nurbek, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Malik Otarbayev, Advisor to the Kazakhstani President, and Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Rector of our hosts Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, started the day, before we dived into our panels. Our speakers discussed university performance in Central Asia, how to embed sustainability into the curriculum and meet student needs, and how diversifying expertise through cross-border partnerships can enhance research quality. 🌍The French higher education sector has a crucial role to play in driving economic growth 📊 https://lnkd.in/eK_tQjxa As economic growth is forecast to remain at 0.7% for the rest of 2024 and public debt set to increase to over 113% of the national GDP by 2025, pressure is emerging for France to strategically identify sectors to enable economic growth and long-term stability. France has a significant opportunity to enhance its economic landscape through focused efforts in four critical areas that QS data has identified: 🔨 Re-skilling for the future workforce, 🙋♀️ Attracting skilled labour to the country 🔬 Boosting research innovation 📋 Developing a comprehensive plan for achieving ambitious recruitment goals Combining the collective knowledge, insights and data from QS and the French higher education sector, institutions can deliver effective international recruitment strategies that draw on the priorities and motivations of specific source markets and the skills and research strengths of France, to close the recruitment gaps and deliver further volume growth in the long-term.
