Well done to all of our staff (and pups) who got involved with our Halloween bake sales at our Linby and Rench Farm offices! We managed to raise over £500 for Whiteleys Retreat, The Trussell Trust Food Bank and other charities. A special thank you to Applegarth Nursery for visiting our Linby office as well!

Before the presentation for the Gold Status Employer Recognition Scheme this evening, we are highlighting one more member of ex-forces member of staff, Nathan Sanderson. Before coming joining the QTS Health and Safety team in Penrith, Nathan was part of the Royal Engineers. He came through the armed forces programme at QTS and was selected by Compliance Director Iain Kirk to join the H&S team. On his transition to QTS Nathan said: "My transition from the Engineers to QTS was brilliant. I initially reached out in January after seeing the HSQE position, and the entire process was incredibly smooth, leading up to my start date which was in July. Even while I was still serving, QTS kept in frequent contact, sharing company updates and relevant information, which was fantastic and must be continued. Though I’ve only been here for a short time, I’m excited about the future ahead." Lowland Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association #GoldERS2024

A very neat job!
Significant de-vegetation work has been conducted along the LTN1 route between Norwich and Ipswich to address the risks associated with leaf fall and fallen trees in this area. The dedicated Norwich Off-Track Team worked tirelessly over two 12-hour shifts, successfully removing or Cutting back trees, bringing the leaf fall risk score to a "Low Risk-1". These efforts will markedly enhance performance and resilience along this route, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience for all our customers. 👷Following embankment failure, the QTS team was called in to carry out reactive works on the Settle to Carlisle line as part of a 52 hour blockade. These works included extensive monitoring, with train services held to a temporary speed restriction of 5mph, followed by excavation of the embankment and then use of 6G stone to fill the area.
