Why Your Bathroom is Still Steamy: Common Extractor Fan Issues Take a look at this video showing a very steamy bathroom, even though there’s an extractor fan installed. If your bathroom looks like this after a shower, here are three common reasons your fan might not be doing its job: Dirty or Unmaintained Fan: Extractor fans can get clogged with dust and dirt over time, reducing airflow. Regular cleaning is essential to keep them functioning properly and maintain good #HomeVentilation. Incorrect Ducting and External Grill: Poorly installed ducting or using the wrong type of external grill can severely restrict airflow. A louvre-type external grill is recommended for efficient ventilation, as it prevents backdrafts and blockages. Proper ducting and grill are key for effective #ExtractorFanMaintenance. Cheap Fans Don’t Work: It’s a common misconception that if a fan is spinning, it’s doing its job. Cheap fans often lack the power needed to ventilate properly, which means they might spin but not actually remove moisture effectively. Investing in a quality fan can prevent long-term issues like mould and damp. Need advice on improving the ventilation in your home? Call Nathan on 01274 358444 for more information! #ElectricalTips

My client was advised that any old extract fan will do for his bathroom. "A cheap fan off of Amazon will do" Funny how he was still getting mould spots. In this case all ducting and vents where in good order... The only thing that was wrong was the poor advice. Cheap fans don't work! Why should you use insulated and solid ducting for extract fans? This may answer your question.. Poor installs lead to poor performance. The fan may work for a few months, but eventually the performance of the fan will dramatically decrease. The lack of insulation and a poor bending radius of the ducting means that water has collected in the pipework. A typical installation by an electrician with little understanding about ventilation. TURN SOUND ON If this sounds like your extract fan, consider cleaning it. This will reduce noise levels and increase its performance by up to 500% Always turn off the power though, either from the fuse board or the fan isolator switch. Your #local #Electrician in Birkenshaw #Bradford

Being Reliable means turning up consistently when you are asked and sticking to your word. Not just the once because work is quiet. I get loads of feedback about people being let down after they believed that they had found a reliable and trustworthy electrician, and they just don't turn up again. Look after your customers and they will look after you. Your #local #Electrician in Birkenshaw #Bradford
