RAD Propulsion is proud to announce another successful Innovate UK grant for the Maritime Data Exchange Enhancement Project (MDEEP) in collaboration with UrbanTruantSail and Cisco. Using boats that are powered by RAD drives, the aim is to harness technological benefit to boat owners by optimising data exchange between vessels. Drawing inspiration from automotive standards, we aim to adapt and enhance user knowledge in the maritime environment. MDEEP will identify existing Vessel-to-Everything (V2X) data exchange standards, explore challenges in their application to the marine domain, and explore solutions to enhance data exchange. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the automotive and maritime industry to explore solutions for challenges such as range prediction and communication in dynamic marine environments. RAD Propulsion is busy working on our latest industrial research project, RAD Box (Last Blue Mile) – TRIG23. This industrial research initiative represents a significant step forward in addressing the challenges of last-mile delivery in the UK. As roads become increasingly congested and air quality declines, our project aims to develop an automated, clean, electric marine system to complete the final stage of delivery on the water. By strategically utilising waterways, we seek to alleviate congestion, reduce CO2 emissions, and enhance air quality.   As we embark on this six-month feasibility study, aiming to develop last-mile delivery through the innovative use of autonomous surface vessels (ASVs), our goal is to develop a working prototype, powered by our RAD 40 drive technology. This hopes to demonstrate the viability of this solution in real-world scenarios, enhancing efficiency and sustainability in delivery logistics.   #RADBox #LastMileDelivery #Sustainability #RADPropulsion
