We believe in exceptional small charities
About us
In the corporate world, great ideas are rewarded. Funds quickly flow to the most effective companies. In the charity sector that isn’t always the case. The big names with big budgets receive the lion’s share of income, irrespective of their effectiveness. At Raise Your Hands we find and select small charities with proven impact. We work with companies and people who want a different experience of giving and confidence that funds will be well spent. We introduce them to a portfolio of organisations they wouldn’t find otherwise. Then we provide experiences of giving that are something out of the ordinary. Launched in 2015, to date we have raised over £1.6m for our selected charity partners. Raise Your Hands is a charity (CIO) registered in England & Wales, charity no. 1174956.

Summer is a time for rest and reflection and we can't resist sharing this quote from Winston Churchill. It's our belief that giving back is good for our whole society, not just those who benefit. That's why we work with our corporate partners to create opportunities and experiences that maximise the impact for the charities we support, while providing a real benefit for their staff.

Really important message from Katharine Sacks-Jones, CEO of Become. We're proud to have them on the Raise Your Hands platform. All too often, small charities are the only people really listening to children and young people. Excellent to see their voices being heard on such a major broadcast. #thinkbiggivesmall #smallcharities
💬 "It's not good enough that we don't have the right places for children in the areas that are local to them." - Katharine Sacks-Jones, our Chief Exec, speaking on Channel 4 News last night on our new #StillTooFar report on distant moves. 💜 Join our #GoneTooFar campaign to keep children close to people & places that matter to them when in their best interests: https://lnkd.in/eMqjbhSC #CareSystem #Campaign #CareExperience

🌞 It’s safe to say summer’s in full swing, and what better time when the mercury’s high to take a step back from the desk and do some good in the community? Volunteer days allow employees to give back. From cycling challenges to beach clean-ups, there are loads of options to do good while enjoying the great outdoors 🌳 They also boost employee morale, strengthen team bonds, and furnish your company's reputation as a responsible, community-focused organisation. It’s a win all round!

35 incredible cyclists from Ipsos UK just cycled a massive combined 7.4k miles over just three weeks, raising money for vulnerable UK kids 🚲 Thank you! One person cycled 723 miles alone - that's almost the entire length of Great Britain 💪 Our athletes used their volunteer days to complete their rides, doing good while keeping physically and mentally fit. It's exactly why we encourage all companies to let their staff use their volunteer days in whatever creative way they see fit!

This inspiring image from the Paris #Olympics, taken by Morgan Maassen, made us think of our brilliant charity partner The Wave Project's motto immediately. They know firsthand how powerful surfing can be for mental health. Their surf therapy programme students report a massive 14.9% increase in confidence! That's why we're proud they have been part of the portfolio of exceptional organisations on our platform for over six years. You can read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/gZsN3Ky5

The team at MV are always so willing to support initiatives that make a positive difference, not just to individual outcomes, but to society as a whole. Thank you to all at Switchback and Raise Your Hands we look forward to working together again.
Cilla Black. Paddy McGuinness. Sima Aunty. We like to count ourselves among these famous matchmakers 🔗 That's because we work hard to match our partners with causes that mean most to them, and where they feel they can have the most impact. That's why we're thrilled that this week MV Credit kicked off their work with the incredible prison rehabilitation charity Switchback to improve the employability of their trainees. To pilot this volunteering opportunity, one of the Switchback Trainees spent the morning in the MV Credit office building his skills through mock interviews and feedback sessions. 🤝 We can't wait to roll this project out later this year with more Trainees and more employees getting involved. Finding perfect pairings like this is why we believe so much in our Dot Impact company giving model. Read more about it on our website: https://lnkd.in/gNwj3_th
