Leek High is going from strength to strength. In the spring term it was in the Top 10% of all Secondary schools for attendance. Given that the most recent term the attendance has been averaging at 6/7% above the national average most weeks - I look forward to seeing their next certificate! How did they do it? ☑️ Consistent application of the policy ☑️ Insistent on high expectations! ☑️ Persistent drive from the attendance team to support absentees and reward those that attend each day. Our report is out! I became an Assistant Headteacher here days after the school was put into special measures. After two years of relentless work by dedicated professionals, the school is now 80% Good. Such an amazing team to be a part of! As a leader, it has been the best two year long CPD session imaginable. Well, the journey isn’t over yet, we’ve just pulled over to stretch our legs and now we’re heading for Outstanding.

What a great end to our week with a really positive monitoring inspection in one of the schools we have supported through their improvement journey. Quality of Education is significantly improved and we are really looking forward to a Section 5 at the next visit!

The power of 3: 3 Ofsted Inspections 3 consecutive weeks 3 Separate Clients It has been great to support some excellent teams leading up to their OFSTED inspection in the past 3 weeks. From next week, I have 2/3 days capacity (possibly up to 4 after Easter) for new commissions, Interim leadership work or specific QA work

It’s not just about student attendance. This school is an inner city school that returned from covid , found itself in a category and had 4 changes in leadership. We brought the school some stability, consistency and clear communication. The staff absence policy was updated and regular staff forums were held. The results speak for themselves

Persistent, insistent, consistent. Another of our schools is celebrating how far they have come on their attendance journey. The attendance strategy/policy was always right.
