𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 🚨 𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲 𝑶𝑼𝑻 𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑺𝑬 ⚠️ ❌ If the shareholder agreement doesn’t match the terms sheet? Walk away. 𝓣𝓱𝓪𝓽’𝓼 𝓶𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓹𝓾𝓵𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷. 🚩 If they sneak in a clause letting them replace you "the founder CEO" without your consent? 𝘙𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘨. 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦. 🔗 Staggered investments? ‘We’ll give you £3M, but in three parts’? They’re keeping you on a leash. Say no. If they insist, demand escrow. If they refuse? 𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒌. ⚠️ And if the person negotiating isn’t the one signing the cheque? Yellow flag. 𝓑𝓮 𝒸𝒶𝓇𝓮𝒻𝓊𝓁. 💰 Investors asking for more equity for ‘advice’ or ‘support’? Fine, but that’s a separate deal. No vesting? 𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒇*𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒇𝒇. 🪑 𝓝𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 let them take more board seats than you early on. Founders must hold the majority. 🚫 Selling their rights to invest in future rounds, without your approval? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩. Walk. 💡 Bottom line? If they don’t respect you, if they’re overreaching, if your gut says no—trust it. Founders loose companies over this. Don’t be one of them.

To capture that crucial moment of investor interest, we introduced auction cards. Each investor gets a card linked to their number, making it easy for them to express interest right away. This simple yet effective tool resulted in 300 successful introductions at our last event. It’s all about making meaningful connections smoother and more immediate. 👥 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. ⏳ 𝟲𝟬 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀. 💼 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 💰 £𝟱𝟬𝟬𝗞. 🔄 Rewind to the beginning... This year, 𝟯𝟬𝟬+ 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 battled for a chance to pitch at 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆—and only 100 made the cut. The requirements were simple: ✅ Fill in the application form ✅ Send your pitch deck ✅ Record a video about yourself and the business Thanks to these three steps, we attracted high-quality applications from day one. But how did we choose? 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱. 👥 With 𝟲𝟬 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 and 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬+ 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 manually reviewing and rating applications, we ensured the selection was fair, transparent, and market-driven. Startups were ranked based on: ✨ 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘁𝘆 👥 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 📈 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 🚀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Why this approach? Because 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀—and sometimes, their insights are even sharper than investors'.
