Inspiring young minds and creating unforgettable experiences!

About us

Welcome to Rayburn Tours, where the art of travel has been our forte since 1965. We’re not your average tour company – we’re a dynamic, family-run business born out of a desire to offer rich and unforgettable experiences. Today, our family has grown to over 100 people who set out to craft trips that are fresh, exciting and downright unforgettable! And through years of experience and exploration, we organise the lot. We specialise in educational school trips, school adventure, trips, school ski trips, school sports tours and concert tours (for youth and adult ensembles). All our tours are tailor-made to match the preferences and personality of your group. Our aim is to provide a competitive, reliable and flexible service based on a culture of honesty and integrity. We’re a member of The School Travel Forum and all our trips meet, or indeed exceed, their guidelines. Our Joint Managing Director, Jamie Boyden, currently holds a seat on the committee. Safety is of the utmost importance to us and communication is at the forefront of what we do - we’re always on hand to answer questions, find solutions and provide reassurance. You can also have peace of mind that your financial security is in the best of hands, as we are ABTA bonded, ABTOT bonded, ATOL licensed and offer full travel insurance. In 2001 we bought our sister company Venture Abroad. Founded in 1970, Venture Abroad was the first company in the UK to offer international activity holidays specifically for members of The Scout Association, Girlguiding and The Trefoil Guild. Venture Abroad activity trips are a springboard for personal growth and self-discovery. And they are all about fun – pure, proper, feel-good fun! In 2019 we acquired Sport Tours limited, a leading provider of UK tournaments and European tours for the youth sports club market. Sports Tours are committed to providing the very best experiences for football, rugby and netball teams, and their biggest supporters, their families!

  • As German Week comes to an end, we want to showcase the powerful impact of this language and how learning German has changed many of our staff's lives...⭐ Here is part two of why Rayburn Tours' linguists recommend learning German: 🌍"For the longest time, Germany has been considered the economical powerhouse of Europe. Learning the language opens many career doors, in my experience also in the UK. While I find most people have a conversational grasp of English in those countries, I do think making an effort is always appreciated and it can open many doors when you visit, whether it is for business or leisure." - Marek, Senior Tour Coordinator 🏔️"Knowing German was one of the things which I needed to get my job, especially as we communicate with Switzerland all the time. I also got to live and work in Germany for 2 years – one as part of my degree, and one after – which gave me a lot of different opportunities to travel and visit different places." - Katie, Operations Supervisor #shoutoutforgerman

Playing that music there and being a part of it from the inside – because I spoke German – was a truly magical experience." - Claire, Product Executive #shoutoutforgerman

This is me aged twelve on a family holiday to Austria, my first experience of the German-speaking world. I was about to start learning German at my local state school in Nottingham. Little did my twelve-year-old self know where those classes would lead: studying in Innsbruck in my twenties, translating my first book in my thirties, trips to Berlin and the Rhineland working for Rayburn Tours Ltd in my forties. And that twelve-year-old would never, ever have foreseen receiving an invitation to the German Embassy in London. It's amazing where learning languages can take you. #ShoutOutForGerman Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany London. Goethe-Institut UK

  • In celebration of our 60th anniversary, we sat down with one of our brilliant Field Study Tutors, Ian Geddes! Ian's persistent passion for teaching geography to students on trips around the world has made a lasting impact on Rayburn Tours. Thanks to his fantastic contributions, with his 100th tour taking place in October, our company has reached new levels of achievement and growth!😊 Read our blog celebrating Ian's legacy here: https://lnkd.in/egGuRPGT

  • Did you know?✨ Our school language trips can be combined with subjects like history, art, and geography... This is the BEST choice to make, as more students can embark on these trips, meaning unlikely friendships are formed, costs can be reduced, and everyone has the adventure of a lifetime!
