Last week’s 2024 Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards was another incredible event, filled with inspiring stories from extraordinary people who showed exceptional bravery, compassion, and dedication. Among this year’s winners were the TSB Community Hero Agnes Nisbett, who has dedicated her life to helping grieving parents affected by the tragedy of stillbirth, after experiencing it herself. The Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser Award went to Jacob Newson, the schoolboy who raised more than £150,00 by climbing the highest peak in North Africa for his local Leeds hospice who looked after his mum in 2020 before she died. Other winners include the heroic RNLI lifeboatman Hewitt Clark who’s spent most of his life risking it to save hundreds of people from dangerous situations at sea, and the awe-inspiring Hari Budha Magar, the first ever above-the-knee double amputee to climb Everest. Congratulations to the Mirror and Reach Events team for their work on such a special event.
