Reaction Engines is thrilled to be selected to provide our microtube heat exchanger technology to aid industrial decarbonization for the U.S. Department of Energy efforts focused on reducing industrial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and moving toward a net zero economy. Reaction joins the team with Echogen Power Systems to support the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office projects with technology that could reduce carbon emissions by more than 90%. This application of our straight-rack heat exchanger technology is proof of our continued exploration of high-performing thermal management solutions to drive environmental improvements in existing systems. We have some awesome updates to share with our network 🎉 Last month, we successfully demonstrated the integration and close-coupling of our precooler technology with existing jet-engine architecture and achieved sustained Mach 3.5 operating conditions, simulating a propulsion system for an unpiloted reusable high-Mach air vehicle concept.   The ground-based test programme initially achieved sustained Mach 2.3 operating conditions, representing speeds faster than Concorde’s maximum operating speed, before operating at Mach 3.5 pressures and temperatures, matching the maximum known airspeed record of the SR-71, the world’s fastest aircraft powered by an air-breathing engine. Some other test stats we think are pretty cool! ⭐ At 40,000 feet, Mach 3.51 is equivalent to a vehicle travelling around 1035 metres per second! Aerospace Industries Association and ADS Group Ltd were proud to co-moderate the first U.K.-U.S. Space Industry roundtable in partnership with the U.K. Department for Business and Trade. This dialogue between government and industry participants focused on ways to improve space industry collaboration between the U.K. and the U.S., and ways in which governments can better enable commercial sector innovation in the space domain. The U.K. and U.S.’s alliance is stronger than ever, and our countries will continue to identify opportunities for working together to develop essential space capabilities and services.
