The rise of renewable energy sources, like wind and solar, has led to concerns about the reliability of electricity during #extremeweather. While the impact of these energy sources on power outages has been debated, this recent study published in Nature Magazine found that in areas with lots of #renewable sources, the intensity of blackouts and vulnerability to severe weather actually decrease. https://lnkd.in/gTRpPNPf Although renewable sources depend on the weather and can't be controlled, they are not the main cause of blackouts during extreme conditions.
