The level 3 apprentices strike again! As part of their ongoing programme that they have inplemented themselves. This month they raised £150 for a fancy dress day to support Matilda and her family as she fights Leukaemia along with the staff and even Bella the dog took part! As International Happiness Week draws to a close, one of our current level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) groups decided that they wanted to raise some funds to help a local charity to bring some happiness to others too. The group chose Amber's Army as their chosen charity to donate their money too as this charity helps to ‘create rainbows in the darkest of days’ for families and children with terminal illnesses. To raise the cash, they all dressed up in sh!te shirts for the day - and some of them were absolutely awful - especially the apprentice from Birdseye! Thank you to all of our apprentices for taking part and for raising £100 to be donated to the charity!

So many of our incoming apprentices for September will be lining up to collect their certificates from their schools today and 3 of our apprentices who joined us last month and are already undertaking their Level 2 General Welder apprenticeships will be having a late start today as they head back to their old schools to collect theirs too!

Getting the right candidates is essential when recruiting for an apprentice which is why we were so excited to work alongside Nadine Tapp and her team from Flagship_Group to complete an assessment day today. Nadine and her team invited 50 candidates along to take part in group challenges, 121 speed interviews as well as practical assessments which were overseen by our very own Swarm REAGIT legends, David Towell and Samantha Gollop - and Nadine Tapp even had a go at the assessment herself! Do we see a career change on the cards?! We wish all of the candidates going through to the final stages the very best of luck and we can’t wait to see you starting your journey with us in September 2024! As we come to the end of the first week of our latest Level 2 General Welder Apprenticeship group, we wanted to congratulate the 3 ‘soon-to-be’ welders to Swarm REAGIT!!!! A full on week of learning the ropes, lots of health and safety training but most importantly, lots of welding practise! It was also fantastic to welcome our first apprentice from Multimatic who has joined in with our third group of Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician apprentices. Since opening our doors in September 2023, the support we have received from our community has been nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve been fortunate enough to receive donations of furniture, scrap metals and more - all of which have played a crucial role in helping us grow and thrive. We are immensely grateful for all the generosity we have received. As we continue to innovate and expand, we are seeking a lathe (or lathes) to empower our next chapter and further our capabilities. As part of the Swarm Training company ethos, all of our staff are encouraged to take paid time out to support charities and organisations. One of our awesome welding team, colin lucas, has been supporting William Gilroy’s Barge No9 Charity with the repair and refloating of one of Richard Branson’s old refuelling barges to become a centre in Lowestoft to support people with a safe space for rehabilitation. In order to offer experiences outside of their normal working environments, we took along some of our apprentices and this week has been the turn of 3 of our pipe welding apprentices from Pruce Newman and 2 of our MOET apprentices from a local food manufacturer. At the ‘helm’ of our Fronius Perfect Welding sets supplied by the ever epic Miganglia Ltd, we are helping to turn this barge around and get her back into the water alongside the other awesome volunteers and the Barge Steering Commitee.
