Happy Mothers day! Today we want to celebrate all the amazing, mothers out there. No matter how you are a mum, we hope today is special for you. We have many mums in our business and we'd like them to know how much we appreciate all they do.

This week we are looking back to a project where we used modern methods of construction to provide fast deployment of temporary accommodation for an existing client, who’s main building was affected by RAAC.    Service: Planning, Design and Delivery Value: £1M Contract: Supply Direct Sector: Education Contractor: Premier Modular & Mar-Key Group Designer:  REAL8 Projects & Renewables - Nikki Collins   Due to the urgent nature of the works, we enjoyed the collaboration between funders (DFE) and supply chain to enable education to continue undisrupted.

We had a great time today attending the Essex Build 2025 Expo at Hylands House. An excellent event to meet and connect with new people, as well as catching up with those we’re already associated and connected with. This week we have been celebrating Women in Construction. At Real8 we are proud to say that 75% of our employees are Women. Our design coordinator, Nikki Collins has been with us since June 2020. With 17 years in the construction industry following a university degree in interior architecture, Nikki has seen lots of changes and has plenty of knowledgeable experience. We spoke to Nikki over coffee about her career so far;   What changes have you seen since the start of your career? "The legislation has changed a lot to change the wellbeing of people in the industry and I feel the principles have changed to be more 'people' focused" What do you like most about working for Real8? "I love the variety of work and the person to person relationship with most of our clients" What has been your favourite project to work on with us so far? "This was a hard one as there is a couple that stand out, but I'd have to say Barling Manga, where we provided additional school spaces, working alongside the headmistress"   Outside of work Nikki enjoys photography, particularly wildlife and has shown the office some beautiful photos. Reading, and is currently enjoying 'The girl who climbed Everest', and travelling. Nikki has seen lots of the world but her favourite country so far has to be Costa Rica. She is hoping her next adventure will be hiking to base camp on Mount Everest!   #WICWeek2025 #TogetherWeRise #WomenInConstruction
