Great Work Oscar D. & Hari Sankar Madhukumar 🇫🇷 A large part of REASON etho since the star of the project, was to give early stage researchers the platform to succeed 👏
Last week, Hari Sankar Madhukumar and I represented REASON Open Networks Project and the Smart Internet Lab at the 6GNet conference in Paris. It was fantastic to present our paper at Orange Gardens, alongside hearing some facinating talks - such as the keynotes from Jakob Hoydis, Meryem Simsek and Mehdi Bennis. Our work proposes profiling AI workloads as a first step towards efficiently offloading AI tasks to the edge, work which we are looking forward to continuing now we are back.

📢 2 weeks to go! Dimitra Simeonidou, FREng, FIEEE will be speaking at the #FYUZ24 conference, held from November 11th-13th at the Convention Centre in Dublin. Catch her on: 🗓️Tuesday 12th Nov ⏰11:30–12:00 on the Mainstage (The Auditorium) panel 2: Industrializing Open Transport and IPoDWDM. This panel will delve into the operational challenges faced by Multi-Vendor Open Optical initiatives and explore the future of IP over DWDM optical interfaces as a catalyst for wide deployment in open optical networks. 🗓️Wednesday 13th Nov ⏰14:00-15:30 in the Liffey Hall 2 for Confluent Networks: The Next Step Beyond Convergence on the breakout panel Introduction to Confluent Networks. Looking ahead to 6G, the focus is shifting from network convergence to full confluence, integrating radio, optical, and data systems for seamless AI-driven applications. High-capacity sub-terahertz and optical networks will enable high-speed, low-latency, cell-free wireless connectivity. Adding distributed sensing will enhance reliability with greater environmental awareness. Thank you to the Telecom Infra Project for this opportunity! ⭐ #Fyuz24 #TelecomInfraProject #OpenTransport #NetworkingEvent Smart Internet Lab

Dr Shadi Moazzeni has been invited to give a talk at the IEEE Future Networks World Forum 2024 in Dubai, UAE! 🎙 Towards E2E Optimum Service Delivery in AI-Native Future Networks 📅 Wednesday, 16th October 2024 ⏰ 11:00-11:25 (GST) 📍 Cleopatra, Ruffles Hotel, Dubai, UAE (Online Talk) The emergence of 6G networks promises to revolutionise telecommunications by incorporating end-to-end intelligence for improved performance, driven by new radio and other access technologies. On the other hand, optical technologies are crucial for enabling long-distance integration among various domains and network technologies. This integration is vital for future networks to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like bitrate and latency, and Key Value Indicators (KVIs) such as reliability and privacy. The envisioned end-to-end intelligence can drive optical networks to consistently provide high-quality connectivity and handle dynamic computing and network demands in 6G. This paper explores end-to-end intelligence within 6G networks, emphasising its potential to optimise service delivery. We envision a 6G-ready architecture for delivering end-to-end services across multiple domains interconnected by optical technologies. This architecture uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to support lifecycle management of infrastructures and network services. It includes an Intelligent Optical Cross-Domain Orchestrator and Optical Controllers at the Transport and Metro domains, as well as Intra-Domain and Cross-Domain Service Orchestration, efficiently allocating optimum resources to services ensuring robust and seamless performance in future networks. #6G #telecommunications #futurenetworks REASON Open Networks Project University of Bristol Engineering
