Referral Team Networking Group

We held our first meeting four years ago today. Of course, 2020 meant being entirely online. We always intended to alternate between face to face and online meetings but we didn't get to meet in person until the following September. Since that first meeting there have been countless referrals (and no - as a group, we don't bother counting them!), collaborations and connections made. Alongside that there has been support, friendships and a hell of a lot of bad jokes! So, happy birthday to us! We're looking forward to many more years of success. We had a brilliant meeting this morning - our first at Riverside Organic. Thank you to Jayne and the team for making us so welcome. The breakfasts were fantastic and, as one of our members said afterwards, you don’t get views like this as you leave many networking meetings! Of course, there was plenty of business networking and referrals being passed too. This week it was the turn of Dave Bradburn from Opus Creative Design to present to the group, sharing some examples of his work as well as a few examples of when graphic design doesn’t go to plan! Next week we’ll be meeting on Zoom but we’re already looking forward to returning in two weeks’ time. New venue time! A couple of weeks ago we were told that our venue, The Woodpecker Cookhouse in Northwich, was shutting at the start of next month. It’s been our home for the past two and a half years or so and has served us very well. The staff have always been brilliant and accommodating to the group and it was both a surprise and a disappointment for it not to be an option any longer. The search for a new venue was underway. We needed somewhere that could accommodate us that isn’t too far away geographically. We also wanted somewhere that matches the tone of the group - whilst we generate a lot of referrals for each other we like a pretty relaxed and informal atmosphere. The more formal rooms in golf clubs and the like doesn’t necessarily encourage that. After considering a number of possibilities, one stood out as a little bit different and gave us the chance to support a fantastic local business. From the 4th July our new home will be Riverside Organic in Davenham. We can’t wait! So, one final meeting to say farewell to The Woodpecker this Thursday and then a fortnight later we’ll be enjoying our new surroundings. - We’re a group of local business people who meet at 8am every Thursday, alternating between face to face and online, and look out for opportunities for each other. If your business was a cocktail which one would it be? This might seem like a ridiculous question to ask at a networking meeting but we find asking quirky questions like this is a brilliant way to help our members really get to know each other. And once you've got that level of understanding then you can really connect with people. And connection = referrals. So we have loads of fun AND pass loads of referrals.
