Huge congratulations to Grimshaw, Maynard Design Consultancy, EQUATION Lighting Design and AtkinsRéalis, winners of this year’s RIBA #StirlingPrize. While we are disappointed King’s Cross didn't bring home the trophy last night, we were blown away by the standard of the entries this year and think the #ElizabethLine is a very worthy winner. It would be remiss of us not to use this opportunity to acknowledge the very many people and companies that have been involved in the King’s Cross regeneration project over the last 20+ years, none more so than Allies and Morrison, Porphyrios Associates,Townshend Landscape Architects and everyone at Related Argent and KCCLP who has made King’s Cross possible. We are so proud to have played a part alongside the brilliant Bob Allies, Graham Morrison, Demetri Porphyrios and Robert Townshend who masterminded the project, and whose vision remains at the core of everything we do today. We cannot thank everyone individually (though we’d like to!) but special mention goes to all the architects we have worked with over years: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, Big Architecture, Heatherwick studio, Alison Brooks Architects, Stanton Williams, dRMM, Bennetts Associates, Eric Parry Architects, Bell Phillips BDP (Building Design Partnership Ltd), Moxon Architects Ltd., Morris+Company, PRP, Mossessian Architecture, WilkinsonEyre, Conran and Partners, David Chipperfield Architects, NIALL MCLAUGHLIN ARCHITECTS LTD, Maccreanor Lavington, Fumihiko Maki Architecture, Lee + Wilkinson Architecture, Studio Downie, Howells, Piercy&Company, Carmody Groarke, Coffey Architects, David Morley Architects LLP, Johnson Naylor, Knight Architects and Wilmotte & Associés Architectes. Thanks also to the judging panel and to everyone at RIBA for shortlisting King’s Cross for this prestigious prize – and to the public for helping us win the People’s Poll, with 35% of the vote!

What drives value in commercial real estate? Is it the individual building, or is it the wider mix of uses and activation across the precinct as a whole? In the first episode of the Purpose of Place podcast, I sat down with David Partridge, Chairman of Related Argent, to explore how real estate developments can increase in value through a stronger sense of community and social impact. David highlights the importance of looking beyond individual buildings and considering how precincts can drive resilience, reduce risk, and achieve blended yields by integrating environmental and social credentials. Take a first look at 3 Copper Square, the first office building to get underway at Brent Cross Town, shown in this excerpt from our new fly-through film: https://lnkd.in/dVdHcCqZ Brent Cross Town is the £8bn mixed use park town for London which we are delivering in partnership with Barnet Council. 3 Copper Square forms a cornerstone of the town’s 3m sq ft, 25,000 workspace business and innovation district. Construction is progressing well, with the building set to open in 2026. Located next to Brent Cross West station, which connects with St Pancras International in as little as 12 minutes, 3 Copper Square, designed by architects shedkm, features low carbon concrete and a hybrid timber design, adding nature to the working environment and contributing to create a net zero park town. The first six floors of the building are pre-let to Sheffield Hallam University, with up to 130k sq ft of state-of-the-art office space available above.
