Many wind farms around the world are falling short of their full potential in annual energy production. But by harnessing data and advanced analytics, we can unlock untapped efficiencies and maximise their output.   Arun Narayanan, CEO Digital Solutions spoke about this opportunity earlier this week at Energy Transition Europe 2024 in London, by Reuters Events   Using tools such as drone data capture and AI-driven insights, we can transform raw data into tangible actions that push renewable assets to perform better. It's not just about gathering data—it's about creating a modern architecture that drives confident decisions and delivers real results on the ground.   As the industry adopts digital transformation, we are moving closer to realising wind farms that deliver on their promise of clean, sustainable energy at scale. Underperformance can now be turned into opportunity—because when we optimise assets, we power a better, more sustainable future for all.   Visit our website to learn how our digital products and services are optimising the performance of renewable assets around the world - https://lnkd.in/eqsti6Cx #RenewableEnergy #WindPower

Stanwell Corporation Limited has signed an historic deal to acquire RES' Tarong West Wind Farm in Queensland, now Australia’s largest publicly owned wind farm. Queenslanders will own 100 per cent of the project and the clean energy it will produce. The Tarong West Wind Farm project, located in South Burnett, will realise significant economic benefits for Queenslanders, including around 200 construction jobs and hundreds more indirect jobs as well as 15 operational jobs. The project will feature 97 wind turbines and produce enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 230,000 homes. Matt Rebbeck, CEO of RES in Australia commented: “RES is committed to continuing to work with key project stakeholders including the local community, landowners and traditional owners prior to the commencement of construction. We welcome Stanwell’s involvement in the project as we work to achieve a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Queensland.” Link to the full release is in the comments. #PowerforGood #AustralianRenewables #QueenslandRenewables

As part of our activity this week at WindEnergy Hamburg, we’re proud to be part of the Team Norway Pavilion, supported by Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Government’s key instrument for the development of Norwegian enterprises and industry.   RES is part of the Siravind consortium, whose objective is to develop 6 GW of floating offshore wind off the Norwegian coast by 2040. Our Managing Director for Norway, Eli Wærum Rognerud, has been meeting with clients and networking as facilitated by the Norwegian government’s official trade agency. Yesterday Eli joined Ian Griggs of Windpower Monthly for a podcast discussing the pressing challenges facing the wind industry. In the conversation, Eli emphasised the importance of prioritising nature and the environment, while ensuring society and policymakers are part of the transition journey. If you are attending #WindEnergyHamburg this week, the RES lounge can be found in Hall A1 - do stop by for a coffee and chat. 🎧 Stay tuned to hear the Windpower Monthly podcast in full soon. “Digital goes beyond software and insights; it encompasses tangible outcomes from assets. From data access to spot potential problems before they even occur, to hardware on your turbines to enhance yield and control system augmentation to action those insights, the potential is huge.” Today, Mehdi Zohouri, Head of Sales for Digital Solutions at RES, spoke at #WindEnergyHamburg, sharing insights into how digital and technology solutions can improve production, reduce operational costs and lower downtime – all of which will accelerate us on the journey to create a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy. Today, we are proud to join over 100 organisations and businesses in signing Global Renewables Alliance’s open letter to world leaders, urging for decisive action to accelerate the clean energy transition. As COP28 approaches, it’s vital that Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) include clear, ambitious, and actionable renewable energy targets. While we’ve seen impressive growth in renewables, deployment still needs to increase significantly to meet the 1.5°C climate target and the global ambition to triple renewable capacity by 2030. By setting robust national targets and supporting global goals for energy storage and grid resilience, political leaders have the opportunity to accelerate progress and drive private sector investment over the next year. This letter outlines how we can collectively make a difference. Now is the time to ensure the commitments made translate into real-world projects that will drive the energy transition forward.  📢 Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/dENsxgJ9  📨 Support the letter https://lnkd.in/eS9pgzpj #NowDeliverChange

We recently achieved a 3.4% uplift in energy yield at Altahullion 1 Wind Farm in Northern Ireland by leveraging innovative digital solutions! Traditionally, wind turbines operate independently, focusing only on maximising their own production. But by using solutions like Dynamic Yaw and TuneUp, we've taken a more holistic approach - enabling the turbines to communicate and work together across the entire wind farm. Read more about how these solutions work together across the entire wind farm to maximise energy yield. Full link in the comments. #DigitalSolutions #Innovation #renewables

Have you ever considered the benefits of self-performing rotor blade inspections?   As owner-operators in the wind sector look to gain greater control of the operational challenges and costs associated with maintaining wind turbine asset health, there is a growing trend toward empowering in-house teams to self-perform rotor blade inspections.   In the latest issue of PES Wind magazine, Patrik Huber from Sulzer Schmid Laboratories AG, recently acquired by RES, shares insights on this growing trend and the technology enabling it. Read the full article - link in the comments!   Next week we will be attending our first event in Europe with our new colleagues from Sulzer Schmid. If you’re going to #WindEnergyHamburg, stop by the RES Lounge for a coffee and a chat.   #TogetherWeCan #BladeInspections #Droneinspections #Sulzerschmid #3DXBladePlatform

Last week, we hosted our annual Global Services Conference in Albacete, Spain. The event brought together a wide array of industry leaders, creating a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and exploring how we can together create a future where everyone has access to affordable, zero-carbon energy. The stunning #TeatroCirco de Albacete, a historic venue currently under consideration for World Heritage status by UNESCO, provided a remarkable backdrop for the day’s discussions and activities. Thank you to everyone that came together to make the event a huge success! #TogetherWeCan #WorkshopOMRES24 #TeamRES
