We love it when we can see the impact of our research and the contributions made by our consumer panel. We were commissioned by Which? in 2023 to research disabled people's experiences of delivery services. We found that 72% of disabled people had faced one or more issues with a delivery service in the past 12 months. Those results prompted Evri to then commission further research with our consumer panel. The company wanted to understand the needs of disabled consumers and what changes might improve their experiences. They have now announced a partnership with Scope to drive those improvements forward. We're delighted to see not only action to bring about change but it happening with further involvement from disabled people. #Accessibility #Disability #DeliveryServices https://lnkd.in/eHvHDsAN

CALL FOR EVIDENCE: Individuals and organisations are invited to share their views and experiences of transport systems to improve transport accessibility for disabled people in the UK. Policy Connect, the Accessible Transport Policy Commission, and the National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat) have launched a new inquiry to develop a policy and regulation roadmap for #AccessibleTransport in the UK. The inquiry will gather evidence about a range of policy areas and transport services, and examine the commitments made in each of these areas by the UK Government and devolved administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. More information is available here: https://lnkd.in/eiE-tSWZ. Contribute to the Call for Evidence here: https://lnkd.in/eKB3sUpR. If you have any questions or need an alternative way to complete this survey, please contact Gurur Deniz Uyanik (deniz.uyanik@policyconnect.org.uk). We can provide a Microsoft Word version, or complete the survey with you over the phone, or via a Video Relay Service with a BSL interpreter.

The way we shop has changed dramatically in recent years because of rapid advancements in technology and shifting customer needs. How the industry responds to that is today's focus at the start of the Institute of Customer Service's #NationalCustomerServiceWeek . Technology has the power to include disabled people and make shopping and leisure more accessible, but it can also exclude if it's not done well. Disabled people have the right to expect websites to be accessible, face to face service to be audible and the removal of other barriers to them being offered good service. Alongside this are potential benefits to all of us. Involving disabled people in the design of services or training is vital to making it work for as many people as possible. It brings an awareness, a 'light bulb moment' that might otherwise be missed by organisations, however well-meaning their intentions. We have a consumer panel of 4,000 disabled people who want to help organisations get it right. Talk to us about the specialist insight we can offer you https://lnkd.in/dwwaJBkW #NCSW2024 #InclusiveService #CustomerService #Accessibility #Inclusion

Today is the International Day of Older Persons. According to the United Nations, we're living 25 years longer than we were in 1950. By 2030, older people are projected to outnumber youth globally. The international theme of the Day this year is Ageing with Dignity, and the care and support systems needed for this changing demographic. The theme for the UK is Celebrating the integral role of older people in our communities. Key to both of these are products and services that meet the needs of older people - to offer dignity through prolonged independence and to ensure inclusion in society. This is why older people whose abilities have changed with age are welcome as members of our consumer panel. They share their views and experiences in our research projects for organisations wanting to make what they offer more accessible. If that sounds like you, we'd love you to join us. Meet some of our current members and sign up via our website. https://lnkd.in/ewV7Tkrp #IDOP #AgeingPopulation #AgeingWithDignity #Inclusion

If you don’t know there’s a problem, you can’t fix it! This is the same for everything, including transport. If the transport operators don’t know there are problems with the accessibility of their services, they won’t make any improvements. This is where you come into the equation. By signing up the CAT panel, you can have your say. Members of the public with a lived experience of disability, carers, or people who work in the transport sector who want to make transport accessible for disabled people can join the Community of Accessible Transport (CAT) panel. Panel members can get involved in shaping the future of transportation for disabled people, by sharing ideas, learning from others, and finding solutions that work. Sign up to the panel today to help its power grow and get more disabled people's experiences taken into account in planning for transport changes. https://lnkd.in/e8TwRABS National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat) #ncat #AccessibleTransport #InclusiveTransport #InclusiveTravel #MindTheAccessibilityGap Video description for those with visual impairments: Damian is a white male with mousy hair, black-rimmed glasses, and a short beard.
