HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Why not decide to SLASH your reliance on dumb discounting? Freddy Krueger wouldn't have put up with the results. Guy knows what he wants. #ecommerce #halloween

Do you ever do a promotions audit? When you've been running an eCommerce business for some time, you will probably have all sorts of promotions. Over time, you add some and remove some, and it becomes a bit of a mess. You might offer 10% off for email subscribers, 10% off for new customers, 20% off for a limited time, and 15% off for new customers from affiliates. These offers can clash, confusing your customers and giving away more value than you need to. Track your offers, keep a plan and a schedule, and regularly audit. Keep track of the rules and audiences for each promotion. Improve the effectiveness of every offer. #ecommerce #promotions

Building a robust email list is essential for retention, engaging with customers long-term, and creating remarketing opportunities. A great way to grow your list is to incentivize your website visitors to get them to sign up. #ecommerce #email

Optimise those email captures! You want to do two things with your incentivised email capture. 1) Capture as many email addresses as you can 2) Give away as little value as possible in doing so So, how can you do it? Here are a few ideas. What incentive are you offering? If it's a discount, could you offer a smaller one? Would a bigger one drive more sign-ups? Would the trade-off be worth it? What else could you offer instead of a discount? Some retailers enter subscribers into a monthly draw. They could win a prize or get their order for free. If you understood their intent, how would you use it? If someone is likely to buy, showing the discount will mean they spend less. So, only use it when intent is low. All of it needs testing, of course. So, hop to it. #ecommerce #email
