Great to attend the Comberton Village College Career Carousel for the second year running, which helps to inspire students in their journey into the world of work. Over three hours, Year 10 pupils walked the ‘carousel’ of employers in the room, enabling us to engage them in the roles within construction and learn more about our apprenticeship opportunities. Hopefully we inspired some budding builders of the future! Read more about our Social Value initiatives and engagement with the next generation: https://lnkd.in/eadBYAtD

We were extremely proud to support the recent Paget’s People Awards, delivered by the James Paget Hospital Charity and to have the opportunity to present the Working Together Award. Winners were Marica McHugh and Daryl Bourn from the Mortuary and Bereavement Team, and the hospital’s Armed Forces Advocate Chris Blyth, for their wonderful work in providing a funeral for a veteran who sadly died at the hospital with no funeral plans in place. 17 award categories were awarded. A truly inspiring evening and wonderful to be able to show recognition to the hospital and all the wonderful, hardworking and dedicated staff nominated. At the new Simon Balle All -Through School Sports Hub we are delivering, we were delighted to host a celebratory steel signing event to mark the completion of the main structure. Attended by ten students from across all year groups, with Business Manager Haydn Walsh and both Co-Headteachers Rachel Kirk and Michael Moss, everyone signed the steel to make their mark on the building at this special occasion. The signed steel will be boxed in and is situated in the main entrance of the new sports centre. This new facility will create a flexible space to provide for a wide variety of sports, including badminton and basketball, indoor football and hockey, and will be used by pupils and visitors from the community when complete. Our Chairman Robert Carter, recently held a long service event at The Lowlands in Drayton to mark over 25 years of long service with the Firm. Since becoming Chairman in1982, he has presented over 750 clocks to employees, celebrating the loyalty and continuity that has formed the cornerstone of the Firm’s success for over a century. Guests at this year's lunch included directors, managers and retirees, who joined the Chairman in a marquee on the lawn to enjoy a lunch followed by the official presentation of 23 engraved watches by Mrs Charlotte Carter. Congratulations to everyone that received recognition for their long service at the event; a huge accolade to all the hard work and commitment each person has shown over the years. We were proud to have delivered our second Community Diagnostic Centre this year, which is now open for patients at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. This new CDC is installed with state of the art equipment installed to take on all planned MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X Ray scans for the hospital. Able to now see more than 100 patients a day, it will speed up waiting times, leading to faster diagnosis and treatment in the region. Well done to all the team involved in delivering this vital healthcare facility, procured via the NHS SBS Framework, and making it such a success. We were delighted to sponsor the annual Queen Elizabeth Hospital Team Awards held at the at the Corn Exchange in King’s Lynn this month. 14 different awards were presented to winners from across a range of Team QEH specialities and departments. Whilst we have for many years, delivered new builds and helped improve facilities at the hospital, without the dedication of the staff and volunteers it wouldn’t be able to function. For this reason the team was proud to sponsor the Unsung Hero Award and present Andy Richardson, a Transfer Support Assistant, as the winner on the night. Having completed the first two Phases at Manea Community Primary School extending the Hall and internal refurbishments, our team are now busy with the expansion of the pre-school space and new teaching block, enabling an increase in pupil capacity to 330 places, and early years from 26 to 40 places. Our carpenters have been busy installing batons to the outside of the new teaching building for terracotta rain cladding which will form a colourful feature on the front facade. This element of the scheme provides an additional four classrooms for the primary school and complete at the end of the year, ready for final landscaping to be completed along with the playground and sports fields to the rear of the school by early springtime. The project is under the Cambridgeshire County Council and Build Contractor Framework, for the provision of Design and Build Services.
