Q4 CHARITY ANNOUNCEMENT Each quarter donate a portion of our membership visitor donations to a chosen charity. This quarter we have voted for MYTIME Young Carers to fundraise for, by our team and our members. Krista from the charity said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as The Ribbons Network charity partner for the next quarter. This support will help us to continue our mission to level the playfield for young carers. With no government funding, we are so lucky to have the opportunity to partner with organisations like this that can help us raise valuable funds to support our work. This partnership will also help us raise awareness of young carers' challenges and how these can be addressed. Thank you Ribbons!" Young carers have been hidden in society for too long, with the vast majority juggling a huge amount of responsibility unsupported. Networking should be about you and not your sector 🫣 Today I was chatting to a potential member about why we don’t lockout at ribbons. And I found myself saying because our membership & network is for the person and not for the sector. What do I mean? In some networking groups they fill ‘seats’ which means they look for sectors. In our network, we look to support people, and enable them to grow professionally and personally. They do this through supportive meetings, our fantastic format & our well thought through networking activities. When the focus is on the person and not the sector, it’s becomes instantly more people focussed and supportive. Therefor it doesn’t matter if there’s someone in the room in the same sector as you, because you’re there for you, not your sector. THEN the magic happens!
