This World Mental Health Day, we’re highlighting the importance of mental health in the workplace. Work can be a source of purpose, connection, and fulfillment, but it can also bring stress and anxiety. At Ridgeview, we understand the vital role a supportive workplace plays in protecting and improving mental health. By empowering our team to open up about their experiences and providing dedicated Mental Health First Aiders, we aim to foster a healthy and balanced environment for all. We asked three of our Mental Health First Aiders to share their insights: Simon Larder | Head of Facilities and Estate "A mentally healthy workplace is one where people feel safe to talk openly about how they're really doing. Checking in with colleagues regularly and creating spontaneous moments for conversation can make a big difference. It's all about building trust and ensuring no one feels alone when they're struggling." Karolina Niemyjska | People & Well-being Co-ordinator "Reducing stress and anxiety in the workplace starts with small steps: offering flexibility, encouraging breaks, and checking in with colleagues regularly. At Ridgeview, we run staff workshops on stress management and well being initiatives with Champion Health that help everyone feel more supported. Simple actions can go a long way in creating a culture of care and understanding." Harvest 2024 is here—our most exciting time of the year 🍇 We’ve received early-ripening Pinot Précoce grapes from our partner grower in Suffolk. Here they are being pumped over in tank to extract colour and texture before pressing. "We're off to a fantastic start with around 13 tonnes of beautifully ripe Pinot Précoce, showing perfect acidity. The juice is bursting with potential, and I’m excited for blending our rosé and sparkling red reserve." - Jack Mankin, Ridgeview Winemaker Meanwhile, at our home vineyard in Sussex, we’re carefully watching the vines, waiting for the perfect moment to begin picking, and hoping the weather works in our favour. Things got heated at Ridgeview recently, but in the best way possible! We were lucky to have West Sussex Fire & Rescue on-site for a fire warden training course with some of our team. Ensuring the safety of our people, property, and vineyard is always a top priority, and this hands-on training was an important step in staying prepared. At Ridgeview, being a family business means more than tradition—it’s about innovation, passion, and the commitment we bring to everything we do. Since 1995, we’ve been proud to be family-owned, and today we’re in our second generation of leadership. After Mike’s passing in 2014, his daughter Tamara became CEO, with her brother Simon as our Head Winemaker, continuing the pioneering vision their father started.
