At the #JoinedUpSummit, our Programme Director, Stephanie O'Keeffe, presented the transformative journey of North Birkenhead's Cradle to Career programme. Joined by our partners, Magenta Living, Vibe, and The Positivitree Charity (1197016), we highlighted the power of collective working, shared our learning and the positive impact Cradle to Career has had on the local community. By empowering communities to define and deliver their own solutions, we've been able to provide targeted support where it's needed most and successfully scale the initiative across Liverpool City Region. It was fantastic to be a part of the summit which brought together cross-sector leaders to learn and co-create solutions with and for young people. UK Youth | #CradleToCareer #PlaceBasedChange

Supporting local communities to collectively improve the future for young people.
About us
Right to Succeed supports communities in areas of high deprivation to work collectively to give children and young people the best start in life. We bring together residents, professionals and decision-makers to co-design a development programme that is bespoke to the needs of the local community. We call this way of working “place-based change”. We do this because we believe every child deserves the right to succeed, no matter where they live. The wealth of your parents still determines how well you do in education and in your career – we don’t think that’s right. Too many children in the UK are not getting the right start in life, leaving them unable to realise their full potential. We believe that no single organisation can solve this problem on their own, but together we can. If you are interested in finding out more, as a school, delivery partner, or potential funder, or would like to find out how you can support us in other ways – we’d love to hear from you!

In North Birkenhead, people and services are coming together to upend an old narrative of decline. By joining services and putting community priorities at the heart of decision-making, they have: ⏺ Doubled the rate of child protection stepdowns compared to Wirral as a whole ⏺ Reported a 20% reduction in re-referrals to social care ⏺ Closed a 15-month reading age gap between their school children and the national average ⏺ Gone from the highest-need community in Wirral to the 4th highest In a new long-read, Katy Oglethorpe spoke to people at the heart of the Cradle to Career programme about this living example of the power of place-based, community-driven public services. It's work that's spreading throughout the North West, and could be a blueprint for new, Total Place-style public service funding. https://lnkd.in/egKrUWPm 🙏 Graeme Duncan, Rachel Daley, Bev Morgan Ft. good work from: Right To Succeed, Wirral Council, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Steve Morgan Foundation, The Positivitree Charity (1197016), Koala North West, SHINE Trust, UBS Optimus Foundation #localgov #publicservices #socialservices #publicservicetransformation #Liverpool #TotalPlace

We are delighted to announce that Cradle to Career has been awarded £1.2 million in National Lottery funding to expand the programme across the Liverpool City Region. This investment is a testament to the incredible potential that exists within these communities, who have often been overlooked amidst the challenges of recent years. As our CEO, Graeme Duncan emphasises, “we are leaving a lot of potential on the table” by not supporting these communities to thrive. That is why Cradle to Career is committed to collaborating with communities to build upon existing opportunities and ensure that the programme is tailored to their unique needs. By bringing together schools, professionals, community organisations and local residents, we are creating a strong network that supports all children and young people to thrive. As said by Graeme, ‘'when people come together...you can get amazing outcomes for children and young people and get them a lot closer to their potential '’. 👉 Hear the full interview from our CEO, Graeme Duncan discussing the funding news and vision for the future on BBC Radio Merseyside with Kevin Duala. A huge thank you to all our dedicated partners and funders who have been instrumental in the success and positive impact of Cradle to Career.
