“The Form” Courtyard – a space for community integration Can office buildings contribute to the character of a city beyond just providing workspace? An integral part of The Form project is its courtyard, designed with openness toward the city and local community in mind. This lush, green space—featuring secluded corners, benches, work-friendly spots, and a reflective water feature—is meant to serve as a hub for gathering, relaxation, and social interaction. Surrounding the patio, a variety of restaurants, cafés, co-working spaces, and fitness clubs create an active and engaging environment. At the heart of the courtyard, towering multi-story structures provide overhead shelter, with climbing greenery softening the monumental presence of the glass façades, cultivating a more intimate and inviting atmosphere. Integrated lighting within these structures illuminates the space after dusk, ensuring the courtyard remains a welcoming and vibrant destination both day and night. This approach aligns with our philosophy of designing urban-generative, high-quality spaces that seamlessly integrate new developments into the existing urban fabric and local community. This was our vision for The Form. While an alternative, simpler design was ultimately selected for execution, we still want to share our perspective on creating spaces that enhance city life, build connections, and contribute meaningfully to both the street and the urban scale. “The Form” project – Modern Elegance Our design for the shared spaces in The Form - a newly developed office building—embodies our approach to interior architecture in such projects. The building’s name and shape serve as the foundation for a cohesive identity concept. Its distinctive form, inspired by a rounded trapezoid that rotates in a layered motion around its axis, becomes both its metaphorical and visual symbol—a shape in motion, something simultaneously stable and dynamic. The design of the main lobby reflects this movement through fluid lines and curved surfaces, creating a space that feels vibrant and flowing. Interactive multimedia screens respond to users’ presence, adjusting the ambiance, graphics, and color palette to reflect the time of day, weather conditions, and overall atmosphere. This dynamic interplay of architecture, color, movement, and mood enhances the sensory experience of the space. A striking contrast between raw, light-gray concrete and brushed, matte gold brass introduces a balance of industrial elegance and warmth, softening the otherwise minimalist aesthetic. The integration of art and greenery blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, while carefully curated, inviting furniture encourages interaction and use—transforming the space into a welcoming and open environment that harmonizes with the rest of the building. What Will Bring People Back to the Office? Companies are increasingly pushing employees to return to the office after the hybrid work model. However, this decision is met with resistance and a long list of counterarguments - loss of time, better concentration at home, traffic congestion, commuting costs, and greater autonomy. Some concerns are rational, while others are debatable, sometimes even deeply subjective. Yet, one factor remains almost indisputable: the inadequacy or unattractiveness of the workplace itself. There’s no need to convince anyone that the workspace plays a crucial role not only in shaping organizational culture and team effectiveness but also in attracting employees with its comfort and thoughtful design—or, conversely, repelling them with noise, discomfort, and poor compromises. A poorly designed, uninspiring office space becomes a place to avoid, while a well-crafted environment serves as a magnet, offering superior conditions for collaboration, even surpassing the comforts of working from home. A great workplace can be a source of pride, an experience to be enjoyed, and an environment that fosters creativity and engagement. In our projects, we focus on creating spaces that are not just functional but also intriguing, stimulating, and inviting - places designed for collaboration and interaction. We strive to make workspaces that are friendly, enjoyable, and engaging. Achieving this requires more than just ensuring functional efficiency (which is fundamental and expected). It’s about crafting a unique identity for each space. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of users' needs as individuals, as well as the broader context in which they operate. As a result, we design welcoming, inspiring, and motivating spaces - sometimes even aspirational ones - where the sensory experience becomes an integral part of the workspace’s appeal. These environments foster a sense of satisfaction and a positive emotional connection with the workplace. Isn’t that exactly what modern offices should offer? This philosophy guided our design of the shared spaces at The Form. Some call this inclusive design.
