👩💻 🌍 On 17 October, Rosenblatt and Memery Crystal hosted an Impact Tech Innovation Showcase, hosted by Laura Clatworthy and Helen Disney. Well done to our three innovators working in the arena of impact tech: Richard Baker of Tokenovate, Rhiannon Rees of PlantSea, and Molly Allington of Albotherm. They each gave rapid pitches to investors and business growth experts, Noleen Mariappen, Eva Dobrzanska and James Kellerman. It was great to learn about the latest developments of impact tech and tips for pitching to investors. Our key takeaways: 1. Big named companies are driving change in the area and are eager to work with impact tech companies to address their environmental impact. 2. Seeking preliminary investment offers before funding is required may allow for greater choice of investors to build your company with. 3. Investors want to see the product that it is on offer (such as the physical product or a video demonstration) and how that product can add value. 4. When including partnership deals in a pitch deck, make the partnership stories as real as possible with details that enable investors to understand the nature and extent of the partnership. Who the contact is at the partnership company makes a difference. 5. Consider adapting your pitch and pitch deck to who you are pitching to and their level of technical understanding (e.g. simplified, general or specialist). It will be difficult for someone to advise others in their team of the investment product if they do not understand it themselves! Thank you to everyone who attended! #ImpactTech #Innovation #FrontierTech #ESG #TechForGood
