The UK Boardroom Apprentice Scheme and the Royal Armouries is open for applications! We're taking part in the UK Boardroom Apprentice Programme for 2025, a 12-month learning, development and placement programme which enables those who would like to serve on a public or third sector board to learn and gain the experience that they need to take that step. Open to those aged 18 or over from all backgrounds and abilities. The programme seeks to enable a wider diversity of individuals to play their part within boardrooms, allowing those without board experience to enhance their knowledge and understanding through in-depth learning and support. Our Olof Palme Memorial Peace Lecture, hosted by Jeremy Corbyn MP, is now sold out 🎟️ The Leeds annual Olof Palme Memorial Peace Lecture was established in 1987 by then MEP for Leeds Michael McGowan, in memory of Olof Palme, a peace campaigner and outspoken opponent of apartheid in South Africa. These lectures have been held to remember his work for promoting peace and security in the world. This is our second year hosting the lecture. We were at the Science and Industry Museum earlier this week to hear directly from Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy about how culture underpins growth. It was good to learn more about the vision and the role museums play in shaping and defining us as a nation. Plus, kudos on the Take That quote!
