The Royal Regiment of Artillery - providing the British Army’s Gunnery, Air Defence and UAS capabilities.
About us
The Royal Artillery - FIND, TRACK and STRIKE at range anywhere, in all weathers and at any time, in order to defeat the enemy. Also known as the Gunners, the Royal Artillery are everywhere across the battlefield, providing the British Army with its eyes, ears and firepower. Using high-tech surveillance devices and un-crewed aircraft, we find the enemy and monitor them before striking decisively. We do this by co-ordinated use of our guns, rockets and missiles, the Army’s attack helicopters and other weapons, including fast jets, and even the guns of Royal Navy ships.

Joined by former Gunner Officers, SSAFA the Armed Forces charity is running another ‘fire side chat’ on Thursday 24th October at Heywood House, Westbury, Wiltshire BA13 4NA; the evening starts at 1800 hrs with drinks and networking and will finish around 2030 hrs. The subject for this session is very much in the news at the moment, ‘NATO - its relevance and the UK’s contribution’. The conversation will be led by Major General John Mead, late Royal Artillery and soon to be a Lieutenant General and Deputy Commander at Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, one of three NATO operational level commands, and Air Vice Marshal Sean Bell, former RAF pilot, commander and now Defence Commentator. Both are masters of this complex subject area it proposes to be an intriguing discussion and an opportunity to engage within the defence network - tickets available here: https://lnkd.in/eye_kgzp #FINDandSTRIKE

Last month saw the Royal Artillery formally bring in two new weapons systems: ARCHER and TAIPAN. The event was marked by a Colours Parade at Larkhill, with 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, 19th Regiment Royal Artillery - The Scottish Gunners and 5th Regiment Royal Artillery - The Yorkshire Gunners on parade as the receiving regiments. Overseen by the Master Gunner St James' Park and Commander Field Army, this marks a huge capability increase for the Royal Artillery. #FINDandSTRIKE

The Master Gunner St James’s Park has written to His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary asking him to convey to His Majesty how delighted and honoured we are that He has agreed to take on these two roles, which were previously held by Her Late Majesty Queen Eliabeth II. We look forward to welcoming His Majesty as our Captain General to the home of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, at Larkhill, when his health and schedule permit. #FINDandSTRIKE

A fantastic day yesterday at Royal Hospital Chelsea with Serving, Veteran and Chelsea Pensioner Gunners coming together in the most beautiful of locations. After an inspection by the Governor of the Hospital and RA Regimental Colonel, everyone attended a church service in the Hospital Chapel before retiring for a delicious lunch in the Pensioner’s Bar.
