North East BIC's interior was outdated, failing to reflect its brand or support efficient space use and attract new tenants. With a modest budget, we maximised every inch of space to create a fresh, modernised environment that feels both welcoming and functional: - Reception Area: A contemporary refresh with a custom-designed desk, new furniture, and enhanced lighting for a warm first impression. - Amenity Area: Flexible and updated with new furniture, flooring, and lighting to accommodate diverse needs and promotes collaboration. - Café: An inviting, vibrant design that encourages use of the café facilities, with a touch of warmth and freshness. - Members Zone: Clean, productive aesthetics featuring varied seating options for both focused and relaxed work styles, complete with updated flooring, furniture, and lighting. - Meeting Room: A sophisticated, modern space with a bespoke TV unit and shelving, a new teapoint, and fully upgraded furnishings and lighting. This transformation isn’t just about design—it’s a strategic advantage. Since the redesign, North East BIC has successfully attracted new tenants and strengthened relationships with current ones. At Gilbert Meher, we aimed to create an office environment as unique and dynamic as the company’s culture. From the moment you enter, you’re welcomed by a bespoke concierge desk, surrounded by greenery and suspended lighting, setting the tone for an inviting and stylish space. Drawing inspiration from urban and industrial elements, we designed custom signage, steel mesh doors, and room dividers that balance functionality with aesthetics. To soften the look, reclaimed timber accents added warmth and contrast to the dark metal finishes. The space wasn’t just about style—it was designed with purpose. With focal points like the large video walls fostering healthy competition and a vibrant breakout area for team bonding, every element was carefully crafted to boost productivity and well-being. The bar, pool table, and games area continue to play a key role in uniting the team and attracting top talent. Since moving in, Gilbert Meher has seen incredible growth, increased productivity, and enhanced staff retention. Today we are highlighting the transformation of the entrance at 170 Edmund Street, Birmingham, for our valued repeat clients, ADAPT Real Estate. We were asked to revamp a basic, functional space into a modern and inviting foyer that reflects the professional and dynamic nature of the building. By incorporating sleek, high-quality materials, sophisticated lighting, and stylish finishes, we created a space that projects warmth, elegance, and professionalism.
